It does look a bit more street oriented. I like that it isn't covered in body panels. Should make maintenance and roadside repairs a lot easier and faster. It still has the 21" and 18" wheels which is great for off-road. More fuel capacity too.
I like it. I'll probably get one late next year if I can find a deal. |

I'll just keep riding my 950 until they pry it from my cold, dead hands.
I like this new bike but for me I fail to see anything it offers that my old bike doesn't do well already. Best upside I can see is all the low mile, primped out 950s and 990s that will be entering the flea market at low, low prices to replace my battered bike eventually. More power, higher insurance, more money, more road oriented... For my style of riding which is still pretty much road biased, it just doesn't make sense.

I wonder what it looks like with a high fender and knobbies.
![]() If it turns out to be half way between an Adventure and SE in purpose.. it could be full of win. If it turns out to be half way between an Adventure and an SMT in purpose... I'll be full of disappointment ![]() So far all of the pix I've seen make me wanna... ![]() I'd destroy that exhaust (rip it clean off) within a week of owning the bike. I love the fact that my 950's exhausts are tucked out of the way and have a roll cage

hummmmmmmmmmmm .... hummmmmm I'm not sure of what to think of that yet. I guess I have to see it in person ... it looks like they havent messed with the wheels so my woodys won't go obsolete.

One of my favorite things about the 950 is the dual rally tank design. By moving the tanks to the side it allows the seat to extend closer to the triple clamps like a dirt bike so you can slide way forward for cornering (especially on long fire roads where you don't necessarily want to be standing the whole time) and way back for sand/mud. The 1190 looks like a relatively fixed street bike position. Way less useful off road IMHO.

. I guess they do it to make the bike more appealing to shorter riders but it ruins the bike in my veiw
