But unfortunately it seems it's the kind of business that maintain a webpage/contact form just to say they have one. No answers.

There are some good farkles within the forum too.

KTM must be going WTF. When I had my 950 Adventure, people used to whinge about the twin high up cans saying it needed a single low can, now that they've delivered that folks want it back the way the 9x0Adv was... lol

What experience do the forum have on this? Is this normal "evaporation" from the expansion tank. KTM have not exactly put the tank at a cold place...

When the engine get's really hot I had dried coolant on the bottom left of the fuel tank. i told the mechanic this when I did the service and he said it was probably overfilled and should not happen now after the service...it did!

There are many hose clamps. On the left hand side at least four, three hidden behind tank. I found a leaking clamp early on but still had a small consumption after fixing that. Went over the others I could get to and are now monitoring. One other forum member reported a leaking drain plug on the radiator, also on the left hand side. My expansion tank has newer overflowed.

Screen is very easy to remove it takes under 5 minutes. There are 4 screws securing the screen. However I don't have the bike near me I can measure the screen.

Engine mapping of a1190R

Didn't know where else to post this, so here goes.
Ordered the 1190R from the dealers, waited, waited and waited. Finally been told it's now just going through customs. Fair enough.
Just been told the importer could have it probably another 2 weeks because they have to install the Australian mapping. I have found out the bike is a French model.
Why is the mapping different?
Both countries use kms
The language can be changed on the screen.
The power outputs are the same.
Any ideas

sounds weird to me....
maybe the dealer just doesn't have a new computer to activate the 1190?
have you seen your dealer selling 1190 before?

2 weeks to plug it into a laptop for 5 minutes.
I wonder.
I'm just a bit peeved at having to wait so long.

Mine will be the first one he has seen/ let alone sold.
It is the importer not the dealer who is programming it.

I thought that at one time France had a horse power limit, 100 bhp rings a bell, do they still?

hi mine took 6 weeks from order to pickup...fair enough as you had to ''book'' an R and put down a deposit. I was told of a delay at the dealer of about 2 days to either do some mapping or ''unlock'' the bike.......fair enough again as theft in transit may well be a possibility and doing that would lessen the likelihood ....note the importer is in western Australia so there is a transit delay and a transport cost added to every bike !!!
Things could be worse....7 weeks ago I ordered a gps holder and heated grips. It took them 3 weeks to tell me delivery was December for the grips and early aug for the gps holder. cancelled the grips and ordered overseas ex stock [ arrived a week ago ]. GPS holder yet to arrive . The manager at the importer got a bit testy when I suggested no one would be buying heated grips in mid summer !!! welcome to Australia!!

Hi Numbutt, I am in Western Australia, (although 600 k's North) so I was hoping delivery would be pretty quick . Been waiting just over 4 weeks but I was told it was going to be sooner so slightly disappointed.
I have heard about the delays of the power part accessories. Sounds like KTM have been caught off guard with the popularity of these bikes.
Hopefully the wait will be worth it as I am planning a quick lap of Australia next winter.
