Yes there is a side stand recall for 2013 1190's!!!
Ktm says after many complaints of replaced side stand springs,
they are going to change the side stand itself and provide a new side stand for all 2013 1190s, covered by warranty...
2014s will come with a new sidestand...
have already received mine - about 4mm shorter than the original

It needs to be shorter, I shit myself every time I put mine on the sidestand on anything that is not dead flat!

I will have to chase this recall, the dealer I bought mine from is fucking hopeless!!

4mm or 4cm ? 4mm would rather be factory tolerance, so no change at all. 4cm would make a big difference.

Wow. That's pretty poor body positioning in those MSC tests.

I think you should post that video into the dragon fail thread and watch all the Johnny Racer Boys lose their minds.....

Have a look at post #5314. The full set of wiring diagrams are at the end of the repair manual

If it's 4 mm shorter and standing wider than the previous, it would be better. I have received the telephone call about that recall, today in the afternoon. I will never buy the first ever editions in my future motorcycle life. :-)))

I downloaded them from a link a few pages ago. I don't understand them though. I'm no hero at electronics neither but I do want to change some wires. A well, I have friends with more knowledge :p

Was called in to have mine done as well but turns out it was already done when I bought the bike in Germany, springs still had to be changed but they ran out of springs here in Spain!!!
Why don't they change the bloody air box! Had to get the unifilter on the last moment before my trip. Seriously!

The other thing that has been bugging me is the air intakes. I have seen some air filter damage. At risk of having to replace the intake tubes, I made a "test" mod.

Removing all the plastics to get here is a bit of a mission, but I was most of the way there fitting the GPS, so I just continued into the maze....

I basically just blocked off the intakes in the front where the perforated cover that is visible from outside slides in.

Then drilled two holes in the area covered by the tank.

Once assembled, none of the holes are visible, and nicely covered behind the plastics and tank where direct water cannot get to it.

Will need to find some water crossings to test. Not simple in the FS at present....

The expedition continues....

IMO this is not such a good idea. The tubes are there to force air into them. When the tank is on its a tight space and the airflow is reduced quite a bit I think.

Can't open the repair manual. Only front page appears.
Maybe an Apple vs Skydrive problem?
