OK there was one time it saw 8 or 9. There, you happy. I sure was.

Stock screen cut and painted. Works perfectly. No turbulence at any speed in low and high position. Aftermarket is a waste of money (I wasted mine on the KTM touring rubbish). I'm 184cm.
Please note that this is not a R screen. The R screen also has the turbulence generating spoiler at top, even though the screen is shorter.
Since the stock is useless, no harm done trying....., and I'm not a dealer trying to sell you anything.....

Bolt missing? MSC?

Just picked up my new 2014 and have a couple of questions.
On the RHS under the engine it seems a bolt is missing where the crash bars boot up to the engine? Is this right? Also I read a lot about MSC but only have MTC on the menu? I'm gathering the MSC is a part of the traction control?
Also have mounted some aux lights but need a good 3 way handlebar mounted switch as I like to be able to ride with them on in either low or high beam(switchable) depending on conditions.
Anyone know of a good switch? Or plug and play harness? Has someone mounted up a dash with aux switches?

Cheers rob

I had to tap the hole for rear bash plate on RHS, think that is what you are referring to.

The MSC is software. Provides controlled stopping while in a turn and also TC.

So is the MSC a part of the MTC in the menu or does it need to be turned on by dealer programming? I thought I read somewhere that MSC was stock on 2014 models

It is standard on a 2014 but it's part of the ABS and as such is turned on/off with ABS. MSC has no purpose without ABS and using ABS without MSC (when you have it) makes no sense.

That is definitively better in Summer, but I prefer more protection from the cold in winter, I don't know where you're from, but here in Belgium it can be cold...

Could you describe how you did that, what tools you used and what paint?
I'm a dummy in that area... thanks!

Did anyone install the bar risers?
I'm a tall guy so I'm sure they would be better for me for offroad riding, but I don't know what the effect will be on the road in the smaller faster curves?

I installed Rox 1.75 low pro risers and they helped me quite a bit

Do you do a lot of off-road, stand-up riding? How tall are you?

Just ordered these myself.

I'm in Norway and drive all year round, including today when it was about 0 deg.C.
Even if it is low it protects most of the body, but proper windstopper and insulation in the neck area is of course mandatory. Tools were simple angle cutter (not sure of english term) and black matte paint from spraybox. I only used paint on inside, so from outside it looks shiny and nice.
Added bonus is that it feels like a supermotard from the drivers seat. Somehow it seems nimbler and lighter, even though its all in the head...

So if I upgrade my 2013 I would have to take my dealers word for it that they actually managed to download it correctly? No changes to menus at all?
Not comforting, considering they fucked up just installing heated grips (all damper adjustments dissapeared from the meny).
I'm not willing to test it by handful of brake in a wet corner.....

If it's a true '14 MSC is installed in the factory.

I'm considering swapping bikes too, '13 standard 1190 Adventure for a '14 R.
Got a pretty offer from the dealer.
