Depends on the surface and the corner or Dungy wouldn't have a seat on his SXf450. I try to stand while turning too but there is no way you can stand in every corner. Every off road racer sits in certain corners and last I checked, all the roadracers do in every corner!

I guess he is doing it wrong?

Dear KTM!

As a current KTM 950 owner, I want to tell you, that I hate it that my bike is way too offroad orriented! I really don't enjoy anything about being out in the nature with my friends, blasting down technical single track trails with my bike!

Would you please make a (100th..) GSA1200 replica for me, so I can pose with the BMW guys in front of starbucks as well? And have a lookalike enduro bike which is basicly unusable on these kind of roads where my friends always take me - and which I hate so much?!

Oops.. You've done that already...

Come on KTM.. there were times when you used to make bikes that were something different from others.. Those bikes were touching hearts, and they were unique in their category (hint: Dakar and racing called them to life, not just plain marketing).. I bet sales wasn't going that bad with those bikes aswell..

+1 my 690 was/is my favorite all rounder bike, if they would stick a version of the 690 in that was more reliable and had proper fueling I'd buy it even if it was still just 60hp ('just' 60hp from a single what a time we live in). A small twin would be nice too just keep it near the current 690 weight. Oh yeah I'm one of those "short fuckers" Geek is referring to....

One more thing KTM, modify the triples or tweak that trellis frame to allow tighter steering...

Not so sure about even the 1190 R model. Probably will do a test ride but I had a 1000cc V-Strom years ago and did not really like it. The 1190 will be light years ahead of that, but just rode my 990 Supermoto R today and that bike is crazy fun on pavement in ways the Adventure could never be. Also my 690r is crazy fun off road in ways the Adventure could never be. So maybe for me the Adventure might be a big compromised stinker. Who knows. Maybe I will do a test ride and be hooked. I did a week in Baja last April with a couple of KTM 950 super enduros and a KTM 950 Adventure and was SO glad I was on my 690r!

Orange Frappuccino ?

Will this be the new forum name for this new KTM 1190?
It may get a couple bike sales from those Starbucking GS riders.

I like the new bikes. Finally, tubeless tires from the factory in offroad size and 24 ltrs is about the perfect tank size,
assuming that the fuel consumption is not any higher than the 990. Slipper clutch is a plus too.

I got 700 miles on my Kendra Big Block on my 990 rated at 95 HP.

Does this mean I would get only 500 miles on a 1190 at 150 HP?

Perfect....

market development

As much as the doctored photos of the various KTMs amuses me too, I think everyone has to accept or acknowledge that for all purposes, an RC8R could just as easily be inserted in the images. KTM has acknowledged that the big sales pie is not the classic LC8 market but rather the soft adventure market. In this market the new bikes are going to give the established bikes a serious run for their money.

Am I happy that KTM is moving in this direction? Sort of. If it ensures the survival of the brand of course it's good. If it means that we will never see another bike like the Adventure LC4 or LC8, or the SE950R, well, they can't take the 07 990 they sold me back!
