My combined average with the 990 was 7 lt/100 km; it was surprising to have the fuel light come on later than 220- 240 km of ride.
I don't expect the 1190 to consume at less than 5 lt/100km, but 5.5 - 6 lt at regular drive mode (means not altered mode) would be enough to have that light somewhere between 300-350 km of distance. For me this kind of a go is acceptable. :-)))

Ow huge difference compared the Euro prices on previous message.
I guess that today prices are just for testing the appetite of the market. I am sure that they will settle later. If this ratio is the case, R will be 25K euros in Turkey. :-)))); don't hope so.

Damn!
My guess is taxes vary a lot depending on displacement, its seems in UK you pay a lot more taxes than other european countries for bikes over 999cc, am I right?
Need to find how taxes works in Chile.

I have to eat my words. I didn't think they would keep that bazooka on the side of the bike AND so low. I dig the overall look though. After all farkled up it won't be recognize able anyway. Remember what our bikes looked like before we had at em!?

As for ride-ability? 99% of current KTM owners can't or won't be able to ride them at their threshold anyway so now KTM may make some cash so we can have access to more purpose built models perhaps.

+1, this view makes it look narrower, which if accurate would be a welcome change from our current bikes.

Side view however, makes it look like a tank..

Can't wait to throw a leg over one of these and see for myself.

For me this new ADV is still disappointing
I saw on the new bike specs on the KTM website, that the R has got only 220 mm of suspension travel
The normal one, 190 mm

It seems this bike is more oriented to go head to head with the BMW GS, Yamaha ST 1200 and Triumph Tiger 1200.
Am i wrong?
I know that this bike will work better on off road than it's rivals, but 220 mm is not for hardcore use.

I was hoping for an R version with the Dakar philosophy on it, but it doesn't look like it

For a street bike, there sould be no problem, but i think this bike is not what KTM lovers were hoping for...

All you folks complaining about the suspension travel-- take the money you would have spent on a 9x0 to improve fuel capacity/range and crash bars to get the suspension changed to your liking.

I wouldn't call it a skid plate, just a debris deflector for the front wheel.

Shrug, the stock "skid plate" on the 9x0's is fairly useless too, aftermarket will have a fix soon™

This new bike sure makes me happy to have my 990 R and 950 SE! Those bikes are about as street oriented as I want to have. To me, the previous generation bikes are big dirtbikes and I ride them like big dirtbikes. I don't commute or tour on them. I ride the straightest, shortest route to dirt and then the straightest, shortest route home. Sometimes they even get hauled to the start of a ride in the back of my truck! Fortunately that means I don't put a ton of miles on them, so they should last a while.

The 1190 is obviously KTM chasing dollars from other manufacturers. I always thought the V-strom I had would be better with stiffer, inverted forks. The 1190 would be a way to find out! Someone should take side shots from all the manufacturers that have bikes that look like this and superimpose them. Or make an animated gif. Line up the axles or maybe try to scale them correctly. It's like they all got together and tried to standardize "the look". Beaks are optional, apparently.
