1190R 13095 GBP

Don't know how these prices relate to comparable machines from other manufacturers.
Come to think of it, are there any comparable machines?
I was in Hastings in June and visited the Honda dealer there. If I recall correctly, the CrossTourer was priced at a few hundred more GBP than your 1190R quote. The USofA does NOT get the CrossTourer, CrossRunner or Varedaro so it's even easier to chose the Orange Crush for us (or is that US). There are so many bikes internationally that don't get imported here.

At minute 1:13 you get a look at the designed space between that non knobbie street tire and the fender. Perhaps its just the camera but could they have lowered it again to my 06' gap ?

I think they are catering to where the LARGER part of the pie is, not the smaller part (i.e. truly hardcore offroading). They are going more for the Starbucks crowd, which arguably buy the major share of these beasts (visions of adventure, reality of commuting, grocery runs, etc).

As others have said, this is a smart move for KTM because profits from sales of these bikes will fuel "other" projects, like what many are lusting for, such as a 700-800cc twin that fits into what is essentially the 690 chassis.

I wish them tremendous success!

(Yeah, I'm a bit of a KTM fanboy after having purchased my 520 "back in the day" when an orange bike was an oddity at the local riding park, hare scramble, etc. )

Well its about time!!!!!!! Their marketing here in the USA has left much to be desired and I believe is the main cause of their failure to thrive her in the states.

As far as suspension travel being 220mm don't most people get there suspension reworked anyways? I'm sure you'd be able to make it the height you wanted as long as your tall enough.

It astounds me that after all these years KTM still has clunky US translations. I guess that's what happens when you don't have any English or Liberal Arts majors in the company
