things I like about it

1. 21 inch front wheel
2. tubeless
3. better suspension than my 1200gs
4. steering damper standard on r
5. ability to lower first gear
6. 518 lbs with a big tank of gas not too bad
7. I like the looks
I just can't wait to ride one. hopefully it will be for sale in Europe for a year than come to the us. spec wise this is pretty close to what I'm looking for maybe 50 to 75 lbs less weight and I like a shaft drive but it would have to be geared the way I want and I think that will never happen. love all these new bikes coming out!

okay, here is the opinion of mine :)
I am EXTREMELY disappointment by the 2013 ADV design - the bike looks like Ducati multistrada.. well the lovely Dakar design is gone :(((((((((( I do not know whether is the 1190 is replacement for the 990 or whether the 990 will be produced too.
The 2013 ADV ugly... I am soo disappointed..

Hopefully you will get used to the new one and grow to like it cos the 990 will be no more they have stopped making it and will sell what stock they have left. They are just making the new 1190's from now on...........................................until they bring out the 200 HP 1400

It's looks like they are going after the GS12 and Tenere to me. Does it have all those fancy electronics like the competition?

Oh well, I got my 950SE to keep me happy.

Its not going to compete with the GS because it's not shaft drive, I love my 990 because no other bike looks like it, this new crap looks like all the others.

Considering the height I think the problem is the integrated oil tank. It looks like it is hanging off the front/bottom of the engine. So taking that into consideration I think they might have just hung the exhaust to fill in the bottom and make it flat, which would be ecstatically pleasing, as oppose to having just a bump in the front. Otherwise I don't see a reason why they couldn't have routed the exhaust like on the 950/990 .... but then again what do I know

I thought it was sharp when someone spotted that damage but it's amusing that KTM has now retouched the images. I feel bad for the photographer who would make such a rookie mistake but many people saw and signed off on those photos before they were released.

What's this tells you? You can be quite confident that KTM is reading his thread very carefully.

PS Hey, Kiska. I'm free for the next shoot!
