Mississippi FF's: Dirt route from Mobile to Little Rock?

Looking at connecting w/ the TAT up in north MS, coming from Mobile area. Want as little tar as possible.

Anybody have a dirt/DS route that cuts diagonally across MS? Or even parts of routes i could stitch together?

Go to the Jackson Mississippi adv site on here and ask I am very sure that BackwoodsKLR or one of the other hands can hook you right up with track files

Your best bet is the "Dirt to the Coast" route in reverse. From the coast to jackson area. This route was put together by a local Jackson rider and is freely distributed. I don't know if anybody has ridden it lately, so beware of bridges out, etc. Paging BackwoodsKLR for this route!

Then pick up the Hill Country Trail from Gluckstat to wherever it hits the TAT. This route is Sam Correro's copyrighted material, so buy the routes from him when you get your TAT routes.

we have done N Miss Hill country, comes from Canton/Jackson Ms to Batesville MS. Then about 20 or so miles to connect to the TAT. I have some tracks be happy to email them to ya.

Never heard of the Dirt to the Coast tour, be interested to see those.

I didn't know about the D2C route. I wouldn't mind a copy of that one myself.

If you don't want to go as far west as Jackson, I can get you from at least Louisville to the TAT on some pretty good routes.

The D2C: Dirt to Coast was scouted by Trophy1298 years ago when he was looking for a "long way round" to get from Brandon, MS to the coast to visit family. We rode it on our way to DeSoto NF when our dFR rally was held there the first 2 years. I only have a track I converted to a route but I have messaged Trophy asking for his official GPX and will post links to it here when I get it from him. The route I had was not the whole route.

I have now posted some of Trophy's routes in the Jackson MS thread...

http://advrider.com/forums/showpost....ostcount=15944

I guess I can repost here, too:

For those who have been asking, here is the info and links:

Trophy gave me 3 GDB files... RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE and use at your own risk. Roads may have changed, bridges may be out, and the Forest Service may have opened or closed roads...

1) D2C: Dirt to Coast Complete Route This route basically runs from from Brandon, MS (Just east of Jackson) to a campground on the MS Gulf Coast. Allow 6-8 hrs to ride (or more). It passes through Bienville NF, Homochitto NF and more!

2) D2C Alternate - I don't know what makes this an alternate, but Trophy sent it to me so I am including it.

3) MSHCT RETURN - Long before Mr Sam made a return loop, Trophy has made his own return loop from Batesville back to Brandon. Here it is...

These files are hosted on my BackwoodsMS.com website and I am trying to add more routes to it as I find time. If you have any MS routes you would like to share, let me know and I will include them!
