You probably know this already, but as soon as you tear down the dam, they will rebuild, unless you also kill the beavers.

The local extension service recommends running a section of pipe through the lower part of the dam. The pond will drain, but the beavers will not be able to figure out why the water is draining, so they will not cover the pipe.

My brother in law has used it and it does work quite well.

You guys kill me! I am for C4 with a blasting cap inserted and wrapped with detenation cord and a long fuse! and I do mean fuse, don't confuse it with the det. cord. It is interesting to read the different ways to blow things up or as we like call it, "cause a rapid decompression". I especialy like the old acetalene in a bag trick, cheap but effective.

Just don't do such a good job that you crater the road. You are going to have a range safety officer, law enforcement, fire suppression, ambulance crew, and a permit to block the road a mile in each direction, right?

Where would you buy C4, blasting caps, and det cord?

So, how far is this beaver dam that you speak of away from houses and things with windows that will break under large percussion waves?

I haven't heard tritium or lithium deuteride yet so I'm not too worried.

I was figuring on a stationary device. I just need to know if he wants the creek any wider at that point and by how much. Hell, if'n I time it right I can stack most of the dam up for fire wood for him - again, I just need to know which side of the creek to pile it on.
