Canmorons that dual sport
Looking for others in Canmore (aka Canmorons, better than a Banffoon though). A bunch of us F650GS and F800GS riders here. Saw another F800GS in town the other day, yellow. We ride Lava, Lava, Orange, Cammo (custom). Who else lives in Canmore, Banff? Let's get together tell ride lies, go for beer, coffee, ride!

Not sure how often he looks here, but Horizons Unlimited sends an email to everyone in the Calgary group if u post on that site.

I'm around sometimes on my 1200 GS, one of these weekenders ya know. I also keep a Triumph Scrambler there (green/grey) so If you see an old guy on an old looking bike it could be me.

Hey Canmorons!
We're looking to shoot a video feature in your neck of the woods later this year. Any suggestions for good 990 Adventure friendly dual sport/adventure routes in and around Canmore would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Neil

Hello Neil,
I've seen your videos. Love it. Well where to go? The spray valley (smith dorian) of course takes you from Canmore past the Nordic Center and onto gravel. This is a great drive taking you into Spray valley that will eventually land you in the back end of Kananaskis Park and Highway 40. You can go left and up 40 to high wood to the 762. This is also the smith dorian. Shit loads of back country here to Coleman Mike. Great riding. From Canmore you can also follow the 1A highway to highway 40 at Morley Casino that also takes you into Kananaskis. Either way you won't be disapointed. Good day trips from Canmore to lake louise on the 1A highway. From there in lake louise the "caboose" is a great restaurant. Or go up the 93 south at castle junction prior to lakelouise to the top of Storm Mountain. At the top is Storm Mountain Lodge. Fantastic food. Amazing lodge. Great cabins if ya want to stay. Coffee shops abound here in the Bow Valley. In Banff the "salt lick" and "Eddie burger" are great places to eat. Just outside the town of Banff is "juniper lodge" great view in patio for a great view. Any more questions pm me. If you need specifics I can give you an idea. If you need help while your here let me know. Mike in Canmore

Powderface Trail!
Is about the best around there. Spray Lakes Rd is closet though. You could incorperate them both into a nice dirt road ride.

RED CAT, Alberta Bob, Nacho911,
Thanks tons gang! Looking forwards to coming out that neck of the woods and having a good play on the 990... with a bunch of filming to make it a "business trip". Is there any moderate dual or single track in the area you think we could get into?f Things are shaping up for about September 12th in Canmore, if things go right. Folks are more than welcome to come out and join if they don't mind such stunning direction as, "Could your come through that corner again, but this time with more feeling and aim for the really big rock so the front end pops up?" Cheers, Neil
