Great trip so far. I look forward to seeing pics from Colorado.

If your in Walsenburg, CO you HAVE to stop at George's for a Green Chili Burger, and don't let the line make you stray away. The line is there for a reason. I grew up there and worked for the Ambulance/Fire services, got deep roots in that town.

Your nearing Colorado and I wonder if Calif and Cinnamon pass are clear?? Marshall probably is.

If things work out there is a park to camp (N39 30.763 W115 57.618) at Eureka Nevada (approx MM 200-215) (linky here) in town just off the main drag. beware the sprinklers, there is a bathroom with hot water but no showers, but there is a public swimming pool ( you have to ask around for it's location), which has showers and washer/dryer. Plus at the other end of town (on the main drag) from where you came in is an Amish restaurant which was very good food.

also after leaving Battle Mountain NV, you might get to a deep water crossing at MM395 (link) There is a shop in Winnemuca NV, but it's a little out of the way for you. Since it's been a dry year so far water level might be low, if there is water check it out before you cross as when we were there the crossing on the trail was deeper than we though.

California, Cinnamon, and Engineers pass are all clear. A buddy of mine and I rode the Alpine Loop on Memorial Day two weeks ago. Here is a link a buddy of mine clued me in to that gives the status of passes in that area.

http://www.bushducks.com/tripreps/passopen.htm

Here is the ride report of our ride of the Alpine Loop and a few videos of what you can expect.

Hope you get to ride thru that area. It is a hoot!

Fellow Hokie Bro!

Enjoying the RR - did Jellico to Moab in 2010, same bike. OK toasted the tires, had new ones sent UPS to Salida - not cheap, totally harshed our mellow...s. But worth it.

FWIW. maybe you know all this stuff:
Some shops are closed on Monday's, check. DAMHIK.

In CO, your bike won't idle. You're might be running 55/158, so "lean in to talk to the cute blonde" (turn your idle fuel screw in to lean the mixture on this bike) and see if that helps. Or hit the idle thumb screw. Will you run Hancock Pass? I think Sam might have taken it out of the newer maps.

Have fun and be careful in Utah and Nevada. I wish I could say that from personal experience, but reading enough RR proves it out.

Enjoy Fun Fun Fun (if it's still on the roll charts) but avoid naps like this:

Something tells me Megashred is going to shred the TAT. I don't think he'll drop off his daily miles unless he finds some other reason to stop. (Maybe some Bros to party with in CO.) The trail won't slow him down. .

Hope your back on the trail Bro..
