Ancient history. New guys are coming up fast. Young too...and all that being young means.

Did Ben have chatter problems again at Jerez? I must have missed that...

If we're talking could have beens... how many podiums would Casey have if Rossi hadn't taken him out at Jerez last year? 20 consecutive and counting.

Yeah, I thought it was old news too....but apparently not. Shame on them for carrying the problem for two full races, meanwhile the other Yamahas do not chatter....apparently.

Watching the rerun of Jerez, there was a point there where I wish I could watch Hayden ride Dovi's bike.

Is Rossi getting the message at last?

An interesting wrap-up here on sportrider.com of Rossi and Hayden's thoughts on Jerez and what it implies for Estoril.

Not a great deal we didn't know but bits of detail I hadn't seen, such as:

"Rossi’s Yamahas were set up to pitch forward under heavy braking, while the Ducati likes a set-up that keeps it flat at all times."

A couple of quotes from Rossi on how he would have to change his style to work with the Duc, but also how when using the less nose-heavy setting borrowed from Hayden the feeling he wanted from the front seemed to be available after all.

Now when was it Burgess said he told Rossi that he would have to adapt to the Duc, rather than trying to make the Duc into a Yamaha? From memory, before Rossi rode the Duc for the first time.

More quotes there from Hayden too.

There is also a piece on Fox Sports quoting Nakamoto on how he would't be interested in Rossi.

"After he left Honda, he wrote a book and said it is the rider what matters and not the machine.

"So now is the time for him to prove that."

Ouch.

I would love to see Rossi wipe away Nakamoto's smirk with a return to the top. And ever the optimist, I have taken some hope from how good Hayden looked early at Jerez.

Oh, so NOW is the time?? I guess he does not remember, or he does not want to remember 2004.

No doubt this is a very, very hard and embarrassing time for Rossi, but he already did prove 8 years ago, that it was about the rider more than it was about the bike. Honda didn´t achieve much until 2006 either, and does anyone have any doubt, that Rossi would´ve whooped everyone for several years more, had he decided to simply stay on the RCV?

Spies, Hayden and Rossi top the timesheet in FP1 at Estoril.

Honda really makes it hard to admire them. No respect for anybody. Rossi won Honda a lot of championships. What pricks those people are.
