Current bike, Honda Varadero. While it's a good bike, it's a little bland for my taste these days, I wouldn't buy it again
Previous machines
KTM950SE, I miss that bike, but not enough to buy it again
5 KLR 650's I'd buy one for a rough trip that my beast wasn't suited to
DL 1000 Not again, great bike, but back to bland
BMW GS 1200, nope, the dealer pissed me off, and I couldn't bond with the bike
A couple hondas XRL, XRR 650's Fun but not again.

These days I lean quietly towards a S10, or maybe a GSA. Or saying screw it and buying a KLR and doing base camping off of a trailer in rural areas.

That's a hard one, I bought my DL1000 in 06 so there is more to choose from now. If I only had 10k to spend then the answer is yes but if I had 20K or more then the answer is no.

Yes.

1990 DR350. Super simple, reliable, it's limits exceed my abilities. Cheap to own/insure/repair, gets 70 mpg, can cover anything from single-track to 75+mph pavement. I might go for a newer model with a magic button when the day comes to replace this one, but the kick-only isn't unbearable.

KTM 950 Supermoto? Yeah, very fun bike, it makes me ride like an idiot though. I jump it off curbs, loading docks, ride it up or down stairs, do 2, 3, and 4 gear wheelies, split lanes like a maniac, etc., etc. I'd buy another.

Ducati S4 916. Another real fun bike. Loud, good suspension, hauls ass. I'd buy another.

Sportster? Piece of shit. Unless it was really, really, cheap, I wouldn't buy another. And the only reason I'd buy a cheap one was so I could sell it and make a buck.

CT-70. Good bikes. Bring back the memories. If the price is right, I'll buy more of them.

01 BMW K1200LT-Nope. Thought I could get used to the weight but I can't. Just no fun riding in town, on the fwy it's brilliant tho.

04 Ninja 250-Without question YES! This little bike constantly amazes me with what it can do.

04 Ninja 500-No Was looking for the character of the 250 with more power, this did have more power but I disliked the vibration characteristics.

03 SV1000N-Yes, with stipulations. For around town hooliganism yes! Wonderful engine and tranny. Horrible horrible ergos.

05 CRF230- No. Suspension needs too much work to even be useful and the seat was a torture device. Good engine tho.

Since I am currently shopping for a new bike, I find it very interesting that many of the Wee owners said "Yes" (mostly due to it being a universally fun and competent machine), and many of the Vee owners said "No" (mostly due to it being top heavy, and fueling issues, as well as there being "other choices" now, as opposed to when they bought it).
I am getting quite a few surprises in this thread...
My most recent past bikes:
1996 DR650 - No. It was a great bike, but I've just had enough of the big single thing.
2004 KDX200 - Yes. It was, and remains the best bargain in dirt biking. I am convinced that you can not find that level of tight-woods performance, with such solid reliability. In terms of fun per dollar, it can not be beat.
1999 Ninja 250 - Yes! Most fun ever! (provided you stay off of the slab) - Again, in terms of fun/dollar, it can not be beat!

Owned a lot of bikes, so let's see:

Honda F4i - loved it at the time, but it's outdated now

2004 FZ1 - lot of fun, but the Tiger has the same performance and is more comfortable

1978 GL1000 - yep, if I could get one that didn't have carb issues. Still the smoothest running bike I have EVER ridden (and I have ridden a lot of motorcycles). Has style in an old bike kinda' way.

2005 1200GS - I would own another GS, but it would have to be under warranty. I had an extended one on mine and then I sold it when it was out of warranty. Always concern about a big $$$ repair, though it really didn't give me any trip-ending issues for 65,000 miles. Did have to have some repairs done, and that extended warranty paid for itself.

2007 Speed Triple - Maybe, if I could have more than one bike in the garage. Total hooligan bike that wheelies everywhere, but not terribly comfortable on long days. Doesn't carry anything easily, so not the best tourer.

2007 Tiger 1050 - Yep, the most underrated bike on this forum. Handles dirt/gravel just fine even with that 17" front wheel. On the tarmac it is almost untouchable by other adventurish bikes. 510 lbs, 125 rwhp, and a ridiculous torque curve. Sure other bikes might have 70+ lbs of torque, but it might be for just 200 rpms. So the specs look good on paper, but on the street it's a different story. Hard to beat a torque curve like this on a relatively lightweight motorcycle

Lovin' every mile on this bike! I could see getting the explorer down the road, but for now - the 800XC hits the spot!

96 YZF 600R - yes
83 RZ350 - yes (had two at one point)
74 RD250 - yes

Each bike had a purpose, and a time line. All great fun, may have to ride a S10...

2000 DRZ400S - Nope. Needs a 6th gear. Too heavy and tall.
1998 CR500 - Yes!
1994 CR250 - Yes!
1998 Husky TE410 - No. A good bike, but the lack of aftermarket support really starts to suck after a while.
1994 Dr350 - Yes! A great Foo-Foo bike! And probably a better dual sport than the DRZ.
2000 Beta Rev III 270 - No. My knee's just can't take it. Maybe if I found a seat kit...
1989 EX500 - Yes! A great commuter! Long range, enough performance to be fun.
1998 Triumph 885 Adventurer - No. Great engine, but with normal early Triumph teething problems.
1985 VFR750F - Yes! If I could find one that hadn't been beat to death.
1970? Benelli 65 - No. Unreliable, slow, etc.
1972 rickman/Zundapp 125 - No. Transmission made of glass.
1978 Rokon RT340 - No. A sled motor/transmission has no place in a motorcycle.
1978 DT175 - Yes! Great bike!
1978 Can-Am Qualifier 175, 250, 370 - Yes! To all of them! The 175 was my favorite, but that 370 motor was incredible.
1986 XR600 - No, but it was much better than..
1996 KTM 620RXC - No. The most unreliable, hard to start, stiff, tall, paint shaker ever made.
1997 KTM300EXC - No. I never was able to come to terms with any KTM300 I have ever ridden.
1985 IT200 - Yes! Great bike!
1977 IT250 - Yes! What ever happened to the Japanese 6 speed enduro bikes??
1978 IT 250 - Yes! Even better.
1976 IT400C - Yes. A pig, but a memorable one.
1981 YZ125 - No. The engineer that designed the fork mounted radiator should be shot.
1984 KLR600 - No. Heavy, slow, and not fun to ride in the woods at all.
2000 XR400 - Yes. A great bike, for what it was.
1975 Honda MT250 - Oddly, Yes. I just have fond memories of breaking my clavicle on one.
1968 Honda 55 step-through - Yes. I have fond memories of this one as well.
There are many, many more, but I have trouble remembering now... There is something to be said for bikes that make your own personal "Do it again" list. I am actively shopping now, but I always temper my thoughts with my past experiences, and try not to get carried away. My older brother, plassm, has owned *many* more bikes that me, and I wish that I could read his mind sometimes.

DL650 & 1000 - Might consider the new ones. Could never bond with the looks of the old ones. Did not like how they got blown around in the wind. Good bikes otherwise.

Ducati ST4 - No, although it was a great sport-touring bike for the 20k miles I rode it. Previous owner and following owner paid dearly for mechanical issues. Services were expensive at the shop. Lots of torque and character in that motor, and really good handling in the sweepers, not so much in the tight stuff.

BMW R1100RS - No, although it is probably one of the most overlooked in the BMW line. I liked the MotoGP styling at the front end,and the ergos. Suspension was harsh and the cost to upgrade was too high. Liked the ease of tune-ups on the boxer motor. Kinda down on power.

FJR1300 - No. Lots of motor there if you want to get sporty on a big ST bike, but I liked the motor on the ST1300 better. Very reliable and liked the build quality. Wind/weather protection was never that great after several different windscreens, and it is a heavy bike. OEM bags were a little on the small side. Great brakes.

Triumph Tiger 955i - Yes. Smooth motor, good enough suspension and ergos to be a good road-biased adv bike.

Having owned several ST and ADV styled bikes I am partial to the latter. 19" front wheel, longer travel suspension, good ergos and the ability to carry my crap on trips and around the crappy roads in my area make these the best platform for me.

You don't need the lemon law........find an attorney to use the Mag-Moss warranty act applies to all products and lawyers prefer that route because their fees are recoverable from the manufacture. Not pleasant or quick process but can be very effective when all else fails.

I liked my DL650 and I really like the new one, it does everything I need a bike to do, but I would like more power. The DL1000 is a great all around bike but it is built to a certain price point and for many it can cost several thousands to get it just right. The most common of these mods are-

Seat
Wind Screen
Gears
Suspension
Luggage
Power commander
Center stand
Heated grips

I have done all of the above plus some, so If I was looking for a new bike I would take this into consideration when comparing bikes, If I was looking for a used bike for under 8K I would buy a fully farkeled Dl1000 it really is a great bike.
One more thing I really like about the DL1000 is I don't worry about it, it's cheap enough to be replaced if stolen or crashed and I don't look for hotel rooms which overlook the parking lot so I can check on the bike, I clean it twice a year.............. owning something really expensive and shiny can take the fun out of a adventure.
I keep coming back to something a friends father said to me. " If you can't afford to replace it you shouldn't own it"

last bike: 2008 Suzuki GSX650F. Fun and cheap but hard on my old knees and no good for over 40 y/o two up.

Current bikes:

2005 Electra-glide Classic. YES. If you get past all the bullshit it's a different, very enjoyable experience

2012 Vee. YES. Once I got the MADSTAD bracket it became an awesome all around bike for what I need.
