No reason, just was recommended . If you had guest and tankless would do two showers very quickly. It also cost a little more.

Roofer's are here to clear the roof from construction. They also are repairing 40 roof tiles from my existing home. My job today is to paint the industrial shelving and get it installed before concrete is poured on Monday (it is in the driveway).



The two lifts will set up in the middle section of the garage and I have to leave enough room for the Sprinter to park inside during the night.

Been planning the best way of setting up the shop. The rear area is storage and two work tables without the lift.








Will make a drawing of the lay out.

Impressive progress continuing! My neighbor would be jealous - his conversion of an existing barn structure has been dragging on from a "promised" 4 months to nearly a year (so far) and that's with no "immigration issues".

About how much does a set of shelving like that cost? I might be able to squeeze something that size into my attached garage. What are you planning to use for the shelving surfaces themselves? 3/4" ply? Something else?

I found them on CL. The contractor had them on the list for $300 .. waited him out and when he lowed his price to 220 delivered. I jumped on it.

The paint cost me 30 but it oil base paint and tough.

He recommended 1 in ply .. I 'm going with 1 inch marine ply just incase it gets wet.

Clean up and meet with concrete contractor.

Painted the industrial shelving this morning. Need to let it dry for a day.
Painted the barn rail (14 feet x 3 inches 3/8 thick.

Cleaned the upstairs to show the wood ..

Carried all the doors ( shower, barn doors and medicine cabinet upstairs.

Brakes on the work ATV .. sprang a leak somewhere .. bleeding the brakes for a hour and still no pressure.. Maybe a MC time.

Found the open sign.. I'm open for visitors




upstairs cleaned up. Now the floor finishing will start after the doors are installed.


Ugly industrial shelving got a coat of oil base industrial paint.

I had 30 pieces of black rubber flooring that I had in another garage. It is great flooring .. allow you to stand a long time.

We put together the shelving and one of the lateral supports where the wrong
connection.

Thinking of buying a 30 ton hydro press. The guy is moving out of state and offer it to me for 150 bucks. Sounds like a great deal. Now that I have the room I could use it.

How much use will I get out of it?

If you use it twice it will have paid for it's self. Think steering stem bearing removal.

all kinds of stuff to use a press for, besides bearings.

poor mans press brake....two pcs of angle, one for the die, one for the punch.

controlled repairs instead of the crescent wrench and vise routine, two vee blocks and run a shaft through the frame........etc.

add a lathe to turn various punches and you are really up town

We redesigned the steps from the garage driveway to the gate.

I came up with idea of creating a non-traditional drive by adding a series of
risers instead of boring steps and side walk.

The rear pad under the deck was graded for a 2 % drain. The deck will be above and will add to keep the weather out most of the time. This is a place to park the atv, trailer , wood chipper and wheel barrows. The good thing we have the garage door motor is in now. Wireless digital pads plus two controllers.

After looking at the 12 foot shelving I decided to add another shelf. instead of 3 ft between it will only be 2.4'. That will get the most stuff off the ground. We are replacing the first silver gray shelve support with one painted red so you will be able to see it clearly.

Steps from the drive way to the rear gate to the house


We started with the footing yesterday. The block guy came by to build the retaining wall so the steps could be formed
and compacted before the concrete pour. This door leads to the little office downstairs or to upstair guest room.


A better shot from the driveway to the steps. After the pour extra large rocks will be placed next to the concrete steps to finish the wall.

Instead of doing sets of 7.5 risers and 11 inch steps .. we decide on doing longer pads . Some how it worked better with the slopes and fill we had left.

Decided on a color for the wood floor. Mimwas Goldern Pecan. Nice rich finish . Contractor is coming to give an est. to bead blast the pine floors with dry ice. Does leave marks ..just a very clean floor to stain.




After reading about safety with tall shelving ..decided to paint the first brackets RED.



The finish steps. The lazy electricial contractors who forgot to buried the low voltage lines and made a half as job in installing a tube. We had to dig up and re disigned the line so it wouldn't pop up during the concrete pour. 3 backs of Mortar later we had the line secured with big rocks
