Well, gear might have prevented some road rash, but I don't know about the broken bones.
That could happen to anyone if deer are going to be jumping in the road in the middle of the day... Plenty of people who were geared up hit deer and ended up in the hospital, but wearing shorts on a bike is just stupid all the time. |

Deer. Eat 'em every chance I get!
Saw a pair peekin' at me from the shade of some pine trees on the side of the road just yesterday afternoon maybe 1000yds from where a doe ran under the rear axle of my (thankfully) truck one time. They can change your life in an instant. Heal up, gear up & ride again.

I'm thinking he didn't have insurance - as if that was me I'm taking a nice ride in an ambulance after I'm on a spine board and collared up. Getting up and in a car with mom is just dumb.
