Yeah I would have started it at 7:30 and ended it before all the whining and screaming. at least he learned a valuable lesson.

In defense of deer: they are around, so one should expect them somewhat. I may be wrong, but I have seen no attempted braking action - no dive of the bike. I am guessing that "covering the brake" is a lost skill. Impact could have been less severe.

And, of course, I was rather dismayed by the sneakers and bare limbs suddenly coming into field of view of the camera. That must have hurt - it hurt me to watch.

Still... Mom! I fell off the bike! Mom!

I live in deer country, the threat is always on my mind - which is not to say that I would not be surprised as well, crashing like the rider in the original post. But, hopefully better protected.

For a change of mood, here is a "controlled impact". It is a 205, I linked to this a while back, but still good for a refresher. The clip is in German, but don't worry: roll up to time marker 1:15.

It's not really as simple as it seems: notice the wiggle of the front after impact (even though the rider is a pro) - still, food for thought.

Why would you post this on youtube??? at least cut the sound off so we can't hear the whining.....dumb ass.

He probably only had a helmet on so he had someplace to mount his camera....

This. That was all panic, I don't even think the pain would have set in that fast.
I'm sure that hit hurt, but that kind of tumble is exactly what real gear is meant to help with. And at that speed, even crappy ATGATT would have made a big difference.

Guess we all have to learn in our own ways.

Doesn't look like he even attempted to brake. I did yesterday for deer, about 10 times and none of them were on the road....yet!

Muleys they are more laid back, the White tails can be very unpredictable. No honking at any of them , they may just turn around and run right in to you.

Braking practices, just about every day. Amazes me to see how many riders out there can twist the throttle but have no idea on how their bikes will brake under different circumstances.

He's lucky that he wasn't traveling that quickly.

I was watching that vid with a song by The Replacements playing in the background. His screaming kinda suited the guitar frenzy

What a moron. First for riding dressed (or undressed) as he did, second for posting this video. Too bad he didn't keep filming. I would like to see what happened when mommy showed up.
