I went back and did the edit the copies cheat for these single exposure shots.
I will at some point go put with the new camera and get some proper bracketed shots.

And one of my last bike.

From a few quick hand-held bracketed captures yesterday...

Now Dave, why'd you have to go and do that? Now I'm gonna hafta dig through my old photos along the Icefields Parkway - no easy task after traveling it since 1973 - and see if I can make some phony bracketed shots to play with too.

Wonder how that would work with scanned slides.

Much Better Buildit! And you also demonstrated a good reason to use the one shot method, capturing moving subjects.

Nice shots sfarson, Harsh and Crazyman.

Nice one sfarson.

Since I have no new pictures, I've been finding old gems to re-process.
Don't worry. My next big ride starts in 11 days.
This one is from a single RAW.

Dave... A nice foreground subject , but a really sweet treatment of the background/color.

Dave, a million thanks. I took a half-dozen or so bracketed three-exposure photos of that scene, trying different "poses" and then previewing each set until I was happy with the overall mood. Although I post-processed with Photomatix, I tried to keep the HDR effect subtle.

Great pix to all who are posting on this thread thus far; it has been a constant (and enjoyable) source of inspiration.

Here's an HDR-processed photograph from this past Saturday morning that I'm very happy with:

Here's the caption I posted with this photo on our "FBAD: Life on the Blue Ridge" thread (I'm too lazy to re-type it all over again!):

That's Buffalo Mountain, Virginia on the left in the distance. This is a composite of five images, photographed back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back and post-processed with HDR software. In the first three images (shot at -1, 0 and +1 EV) the sun hadn't yet broken the horizon. In the second set of images, in the time it took to set up my camera to take another three-shot exposure (this time at -2, 0 and +2 EV), the sun had literally just begun to peek up over the mountains. Another tick slower on the shutter and this photograph would have looked (good but) totally different. Sometimes ya get lucky.

The crotch tourer at Cadillac Ranch back in March. They were filming some documentary out there and left a gate wide open. They told me I wasn't supposed to be there but let me snap a few pics since I was already there.

Not true HDR, just single image tonemapping in photomatix.
