A bit grainy / noisy, but I expect that from a single exposure.
I really need to get my good camera out and do some proper shots.

New Orleans, LA 5-0 in the French Quarter

I couldn't resist snapping this shot of this Police Bike.

Much respect to all the policemen for their service. I give them lots of credit.

I tried to keep my hands as steady as possible but I failed. I guess that's what a few Hurricanes and Abita Ambers do to you. Shot with a Canon S110 -2 0 +2 exposure bracketing. Edited in Photomatix.

That's actually a good shot, considering. I like the composition and the lighting effects. Gives a sense of late nights on the town

Thanks! You're right, it does capture the scene that I had taking it all in. The sites, sounds and SMELL of the French Quarter... dirt, grime, late night debauchery, immorality, and intimacy.

Road Trip NYC to Kennebunkport Maine

I recently took my 2007 R1200GS to visit a friend in Maine from Manhattan, NYC. I wore my favorite Grateful Dead t-shirt. You'd be surprised how many people comment and give you the thumbs up.

First stop for fuel. Got 36 MPG leaving NYC with some traffic and "occasionally exceeding the speed limit".

Next gas stop got 43 MPG with no traffic and "often exceeding the speed limit".

Single exposure with iPhone 5, 8MP. Enhanced in Photoshop and then Photomatix.

Hi All,
A HDR image made up of 5 exposures, taken on the weekend during a quick overnighter to Blowering Reservoir, about 4 hours south of Sydney, Australia.

Hi! Can you please share your technique? Camera, exposure +/-, software?

Thanks, Lawrence

Hi drsilver,
I shot 5 images on auto bracketing with my old Nikon D300 SLR and a 17-35 mm f2.8 lens.
Using 250 ISO, aperture priority at f8. Freehand, no tripod.
Then process the images using Photomatix pro to get a result I thought looked ok, then tweaked the final image in Photoshop.
I did not go over the top with the processing into HDR, as i prefer to have a more natural looking image, as opposed to something that is obviously processed a lot.
This is, of course a personal taste, as everyone likes something different.
That's the best and worst thing about photography, what I think looks great, looks like rubbish to someone else...!
