Um, didn't you have a couple Burgmans (Burgmen?) already??

Or is this a case that you're exhausted all the brands around and you've circled back around to the start of the list

Ok. Kidding. Looks nice. I've always thought the 400 was the nicer model. That said you must have a really understanding wife.

Yes, I had both Burgmans a few years back but I've also had several Silverwings and Refexes.
All depends on my riding needs/wants at the time and deals I might come across.

Yes, my wife is very understanding!

What's the down side of the Vespa 250-300's you have owned.

Downside is this model can have problems with a front end wobble at low speeds. It gets worse if you add a top case. Since all my scoots have top cases, it became too annoying for me to live with. If you go to Modern Vespa you will see most owners have the issue to some degree. Some less, some more. A few state no wobble at all.

Upsides are the motor is smooth and powerful (for a 250). The one piece metal frame makes for a very nice ride. You can ride all day on the highway and feel comfortable.

The classic staying (IMO) is unsurpassed. The scoot gets a lot of attention. Bike owners who have scoffed at my riding other scoots have praised and asked about the Vespas. The red one especially brings many positive comments from women. People just love the look.

Front wheel wobble, you would think for such an iconic brand they would solve that problem on their top of the line retro model that is years into production. The fact that you have had the problem with more than one is enough to keep me away as I'm a top box/basket guy myself. . And I do agree, they are some of the nicest looking scooters made.

TU250 sold. Trying to get down to one scoot and the Sport City isn't moving so now it's either the Burgman or the Aprilia, first to go.

Like the Bman so hope the Aprilia sells.

The Burgman sold so I'm left with the Sport City. There is a lot to like about the SC but it is a bit high for my tiny legs and it just doesn't make me smile the way other scoots have.

I'm going to search for another Reflex or Helix and hope I can find a nice one.

J-

While I could ride it, I don't think I could flat foot it when stopped. My inseam is about 27" so finding a bike I can flat foot is a challenge.

Age and injuries have now made tip toeing at stops uncomfortable/painful.

I will take a look at one and see how it fits. Maybe I could have the seat modded. Good suggestion-thanks!

Edit- taking a look at the web page reminded me that the rider can't extend his legs on this model. The Hondas allow the rider more foot positions.

There's a sweet one for sale here, you can always lower it a little if needed I bet

Have you looked at a SYM? I have a red 2012 HD 200 EVO that is very well made, fit and finish are excellent, and it cruises easily at 70-75. I have, on a good day, a 30" inseam and at a stop sign my knees are still bent so it might be OK for you.

I had one for a while- great machines. But, like my present Sport City. It's just a bit too high to be comfortable. I have considered the Sym RV200 evo and will look at it further if I don't find a Reflex or Helix.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Bought a 1996 Helix to "perk up" but on the day I brought it home Honda announced the Forza will be out this summer so lost interest in doing anything on it. Put it right back up for sale.

Current thoughts are to check out the CTX and Forza as they come out. If they don't grab me ill probably go back to a Burgman 400 again.

Since 1999 as best as I can recall (and I know I will forget a couple) I've had

2 Honda Pacific Coasts
Yamaha VStar 650
6 Honda Silverwings
Burgman 650
Burgman 400
2 Vespa GTS 250s
Honda CT110
SYM HD200
SYM Symba
3 Honda Reflexes
2 Honda Helex
2 Bajaj Chetaks
2 TU250s
HD Sportster
Triiumph Bonneville
Yamaha 50cc
Honda CRF230L
Aprilia Sport City 250
Kawasaki Super Sherpa 250
