Would have been nice to have one of these down there, Gus had a SPOT but it was not an option when I left to push the button.
http://shop.delorme.com/OA_HTML/DELi...minisite=10020 InReach would good since it can be 2 way sat communication on a budget.

Congrats Jason and thanks for the great pics/vids. Wish I could have rode with you guys. I love blazing trails through the woods.
Rode in an enduro on Sunday. Got my ass thoroughly kicked (with a dose of heat exhaustion) and somehow squeaked by with a 3rd place class finish. |

Whaaahhhh!
I'm really regretting staying home just to work overtime rather than go to this epic adventure.
I am so ashamed of myself. ![]() ![]()

The 3 of us from Illinois had a blast, thanks to all for the event. Special thanks to DrLewall for taking us on a personnel tour. Some pics to follow
DrLewall took us down Warloop ![]() We had one rider chicken out so Dr took the bike down, if he only knew what he was riding. The walk of shame... ![]() After a nice ride we did lunch at one of Dr favorites, darn good too. ![]() Some more sight seeing, ![]() ![]() ![]() Once back at WR we had to address a few things on the bike Dr drove down the hill ![]() ![]() Just minor thing, clutch cable, brakes, engine mount bolt. Here is the so called mechanic. ![]() After the repairs a great dinner was enjoyed by all. Sorry I forgot to take a pic of desert, it disappeared to quick. ![]() Thanks again. John B./rustynut2 The rest of the pics from Belleville Illinois to White Rock can be seen here. 1230 miles for me. http://s129.photobucket.com/albums/p232/beckerjs/slap/ rustynut2 screwed with this post 05-22-2012 at 08:57 AM |

I think you'll be more popular. No way I'll go, but I think you'll attract all the crazy Okies, Daron, Ted and others that can't get enough of that single track rough crop.

You must be the reason I look so lost and confused Ted. It was Saturday morning and you all had enough shine Friday night to think it was Sunday morning when I showed up. Thanks for letting me tag along. I had a blast other than all the dust. I had to stop in Durham to wash the dust/bug juice combo off the visor so I could see again.

Nice report rustynut.
I think my Lubbock bike might be a KLR. hmmmm. Kris I know about DUST with those mf'ers. I ate jeffro and husaberg 570 dust all day....but it was FUN !!!!And I say leaders (TED!!!!) have to donate to an air filter inventory!!!!! Of course when you do eight miles in several hours dust is not a worry MountainMoto screwed with this post 05-22-2012 at 09:03 PM |

I do like the dust free riding Gus.The mileage sounds like a mtn bike ride! But I probably would not go onto that trail on a mtn bike. dern lose as# trail. by the way.....a combination of epic adventure, stuff with semester-elementary ending, & nice weather makes me feel like I just got back from a two-week vacation. All I REALLY want to do is ride in the woods. But packing up/yard crap and getting outta dodge has reared its head(s). anyway. mornin
