As I posted on the Steeds, so far all it needs is a carb cleaning and some new compliance fittings (curse those damn things). I haven't gotten to ride it yet, as it's so gunked up it won't start. But the ergos feel perfect for me -- love the forward controls. The Brembos are awesome too, compared to my previous Ural TLS/SLS drum brake experiences. Looking forward to this one. I thought the Magna was going to be the cruiser for me, but I'm no longer convinced.

I bought a used 06 Ural Tourist about 4 years ago. Loved the thing, but was constantly worried about break downs, so sold it. However, I regretted selling it, soon after. I would not buy a new model, but they are tons of fun, and easy to work on. They do have a soul, at least in my opnion.

I have roadside assistance with my insurance, I'm not worried about a break down.
They will go anywhere to get you, ask JeffB about his experience. |

A good roadside assistance insurance would do the trick. Man, I want another Ural, but this time a Green Patrol model. Save our Nation, VOTE REPUBLICAN!!

Oh crap! Another decent thread down the drain! Isn't there a special sub-forum for this sort of thing?

Really? 500+ posts and you do this stupid shit? Holy fuck. What were you hoping to gain from posting this? As a conservative myself, this shit should earn the ban hammer in my opinion.

![]() It would be cool to see what BMW or KTM could do with a fresh sheet of paper and a sidecar adventure bike. But you know what? Urals are reliable enough (especially the newer upgraded ones). This is mine on the arctic ocean. It was about -20. Ran flawlessly. Ya, you might get a lemon and that would suck, but my 07 certainly isn't. The grin factor is excellent, and they can easily do what other bikes have trouble doing. Iceroads, mud, kids and dogs, camping, fishing. Actually let me rephrase that, you no longer have to be an awesome rider/packer to do snow, mud, offroad, kids, dogs, camping, fishing... |

The fact will always remain... anything else does NOT have reverse. Bad option to not have it if you are "out there" in the back country.

Howdy All,
For whatever its worth, I use reverse more then I do two wheel drive and I do a lot of bad road-off road sidecar riding. I also know for a fact that every time I ride my hacked BMW and have to manually push it backwards my Ural's are laughing their Siberian arses off.

Hey Ara, I met you at the WA expo rally this summer. Think you had just picked up your Ural at that point. How are you liking it so far?
