Thanks, Windmill. I didn't know they were doing that.

Sent from the voices in my head and transcribed by their drinking buddy...

Pissed Just crossed over to the dark side and bought a Ural.

I have read many of the replies to this post, which was one of the first things I read when I was researching Urals. If I stopped at that post instead of continuing on in my research, I would never have bought my 2008 Ural Patrol. I would then have missed out of one of the best motorcycles I have ever owned. I do not know of any motorcycle out there which brings more delight to everyday people than a Ural. As far as reliability? Time will tell, but so far over the last 6 months and thousands of miles rode, no issues. All I can say is, do not let this thread prevent you from buying a Ural. Do your own exhaustive research, make up you own mind. And, if you do come over to the dark side, you will have more fun than a barrel if monkeys.

Bought a new 2007 Patrol with a 2 year warranty. Used the warranty to the tune of 0 times. The only problem in the first 2 years was the turn signal flasher. Went to the auto parts store, plunked down less than $5.00, came home, turned handlebar to left, pull old flasher out, plug new flasher in, drove away.
In 2009 took a little ride around the USA. 30 states, 13 National Parks, 14,000+ miles with only a couple minor problems. "Google: Poor Man Uraling the USA"
Yes, the Ural does have it's limitations which the prospective customer must realize before buying. One needs to make the decision if they will be happy living within those limits. If the answer is yes, they will probably live memories to last a lifetime, as I have. Thank You Ural for my memories.....

However you want, its a basic kit, not plug and play.

It comes with what you need to wire it to the switch on the tub fuse panel, I added an SPST relay from Radio Shack so it goes on and off with the lights also.

Seriously though, can you post a closeup photo of your lightbar on the sidecar? I was contemplating hooking up some auxillary lights for MrsDonkeys last year, but she lost interest when I mentioned punching holes in her sidecar bumper. It seems she doesn't like me drilling holes in her Ural. That lightbar looks like it might be a good compromise.
Raceway Services in Salem ,Oregon sells a real nice light bar that clamps to the bumper and accepts a wide variety of lights ( no drilling required )
Raceway makes the majority of after market accessories for Urals . check them out.

I am not going to buy the FF is the fastest color. However when I park my truck beside my FF Ural I pick up a radio station in Albuquerque.

Yes, but before you jump at Raceway, research others. Raceway makes some good stuff, I like their exhaust, but unless you are in their face in Oregon, they SUCK at customer support through Email.

Not entirely true, I'm located in Namibia, Southern Africa and recently received an order I placed with Raceway, however the FMF muffler I had ordered was not included. One email to Raceway and within 2 days (allowing for a 7 hour time difference) my missing muffler was dispatched and I had received two mails to address the issue. Can't fault that. They messed up then made good.
