I wanted to do long term travel with my GF. She insisted on greater comfort and more storage space (for clothes!) than what could be done two up on a two wheeler. I still get to be in the elements on a bike and she gets to carry a few pairs of shoes and more than one change of clothes. Win win!

How about you?

About the same story. My Wife can read while underway, sleep if she wants, and carry her favorite pillow with her.
She's not the most "happy camper' so I can carry plenty of good camping gear too.....

Hmmm....trailering his rig....?

Why did I start? Kids........
And I found a great deal on a good project in the flea market.
Many reasons why I will continue..... I don't have to put the ural on a trailer after dragging deer out of the woods.
Plus, I just found a k100 in my neighborhood in need of some love.... And a chair.... So it continues.

That's just awesome. Where did you get that cover with the doggie hole from?

I had it made at a local boating shop. Used the OEM full cover as a template, positioned the hatch for the size of my dog, made a few adjustments and that's what we ended up with. With the hatch and the interior vent open Barley gets plenty of airflow, plus protection from the sun when he's had enough. When it rains I zip it shut save for six inches so he can stick his nose out. The windscreen keeps rain out as long as we're moving.

The size and position of the hatch is critical. This one fits Barley just fine, and he now has 16,000 miles under his collar in all sorts of weather. Rusty, the other golden who rides with me, is a much longer dog and the hatch is wrong for him, so he only does short trips around the village with no cover in place.

My wife has some hip issues that cause her discomfort on the bike seat. In the hack she is more comfortable, can change positions, read or sleep as she wishes. It allows us more time together. We have yet to try anything serious with the dogs, 3 terriers. Not sure that any of them will take to traveling.
