That was Blacks cr. Meadow cr., lester cr., Baumgartner to Warm Springs.
I had intended to continue on but i got stuck twice trying to get past the slide and was beat after finally getting everything free and turned around. I might have made it had i been travelling with another small bike as two of us could have almost portaged, but as it was alone with a very loaded bike i made the right choice.
I ran out of gas crossing the Arco desert and had to use one of my spares. I was only 2.2 miles from a station. My worst mileage of the trip at just over 38 mpg.

Hey there Fishy.. checking in. been up in the mountains with family (no internet) Well, it looks like that route we discussed has been pretty good to you excepting that Dollarhide section (sorry

it should have been clear by now) Well it was a adventure. I just heard from the local scuttlebutt Dollarhide is still closed on the east side just off the summit about 6 foot of snow with a big honking tree in the middle of it... Was going to take that route over on my way to the Klim Rally next week. Oh Well!

Great stay in island park with family
awesome day of riding today until my fuel pump quit in the heat. My nephew is coming to get me in Bute city. More later. ADVENTURE!

Alas, the trusty WR does have known chink in the armor. I might just buy a fuel pump now and be ready when it quits.

If it works like the KTM pump, just get a spare set of points.

Yea, mine is that year. I have a spare at home but i am going to try to get one under warranty. Hopefully it is a short diversion.

It is serendipitous that i coasted to the only bar in miles. The locals keep buying rounds. I can't keep up..

Update.

I am back in Meridian after being extracted from the desert last night.
My fuel pump was acting up as I crossed the desert in 106 degree heat.

Outlaw Motorsports in Enterprise Oregon come through again and were able to get me a replacement under warranty. Snake River Yamaha in Meridian wiould not even consider calling Yamaha without bringing the bike in for diagnosis, which would require shop time. I will have the pump in a few days and added a service fee for their trouble. I love Outlaw Motorsports in Enterprise Oregon. If you are anywhere near the area please stop in and patronize them. I WILL buy my next bike there, regardless that I live hours from them. This is the second time they have saved a trip for me.

Ok, the last update was from Pocatello Idaho to Island Park. I went through the Reservation to Blackfoot Reservoir then over Dan pass over to Skyline Ridge to Fall Creek then into the Snake Rive Canyon. From there I went to Swan Valley where I filled up with fuel and wanted a square ice cream cone but the line was way too long and I wanted to get moving. I slabbed over to Victor then down towards Ashton and back onto dirt on the 367 to the 150 and the 001 trail all the way to the 47 then into Buttermilk Campground on the 126. 311 miles total, all but 96 miles on dirt, fantastic. I highly recommend Skyline Ridge from South to North, stunning scenery on top in all directions. the top of Fall Creek was pretty steep and washboarded, but I took it slow and even with the trailer it was ok.

I lounged around camp for a few days and enjoyed the lake and the family.

Even got a dog fix...

From there we went into Yellowstone as my sons friend had never been... We also visited Upper and Lower Messa Falls.
