Question Garmin Nav IV

I have a Garmin Nav IV on my K1600GTL. Im a little confused about the device. Im headed to Copper Mountain resort for the BMWRA Rally, leaving Tuesday. My nav IV says its 1440 miles. Streets and Trips says its 1650 miles. Id like to see the entire route on the Nav IV but dont know how to do it. Id like to doo how it differs from the Streets and Trips route.

Any help would be greatly apprreciated.

Does it show 1440 miles before calculation of the routing or after? When you first select the waypoint it shows straight line distance to the waypoint. After you select it and it does the calculation it should be correct.

If you go to 2D view and zoom out you should be able to see the entire route.
