I've been watching Schenn from the start, and I'm sad to see him go. He's going to do well with Philly, and Burke got one hell of a return for him. JVR really helps us out up front, and we've got D-men up the ol' wazoo. Can't wait to see how JVR fits into the lineup.

Oates to coach the Caps.
What does that say about Ovie, Semin, Backstrom - going to run him out of town too? |

Marshall Jolly ![]() has been replace by Wyatt Earp. ![]() Oates is no dummy. I fully expect him to win with the S.O.B.s. If not, their jobs in DC are on the line, not Oates'.

Oates was also inducted into the hall of fame today. About fucking time. Most underrated playmaker of all time. I am still pissed the bruins haven't retired his number yet.

Parise / Suter watch continues.
MN and DET went to Madison to meet with Suter. Parise is home in MN for the 4th. One? Both?

Of course both would be preferable. However if I had to pick just one it would be Suter, for obvious reasons. I also read the wings were offering about $90 mil and 12 or 13 years to Suter. I don't know what they offered Parise.
Side note Hudler goes to Calgary, that made me laugh. Have fun with all his defensive gaffs.

It seems like the big winners have been the Stars and Islanders the past few days.

I dunno.
That's a lot of cap space tied up in two guys on near-identical terms, with some big signing bonuses the first few years. The Wild do have some contracts coming off the books in a few years, but I see these long contracts and cringe a little bit. I think Suter is a safer bet long-term. |

Both, apparently.
![]() Same contract, 98 mil over 13 years for each one of them. 7.5 AAV for the cap. Jesus H. http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/161345165.html Expectations will be a little higher this year. |
