I guess it's your luck day eh GB. Well I must say I'm a little disappointed we didn't get Suter. But there is a silver lining for me. It means we can go after Weber next year. I want some more beast in my blueline.

Weber's an RFA. No courting from Detroit yet, unless they're insane enough to throw out an offer sheet. Detroit would be one helluva fit for him, though.

Yeah, I just checked RFA for Weber through 2012-13. Still with the state of the Wings D I'd send an offer sheet his way at the end of next season.

Weber signed a $110 mil, 14-year offer sheet with Philly.

Nashville has the cap space, but not sure they have the cash - its very heavily front-loaded.

I don't like the idea of an offer sheet. It's just not fair to small-market teams. I was reading into this a little. Philly was actually in trade talks for Weber. They didn't want to give up their own prospects, so they turn around and make an offer that's so ridiculously front-loaded that Nashville probably won't be able to afford to match it. "Trade us your superstar, or we'll just buy him from you." The whole thing stinks. Part of me hopes the league steps in and declares the offer sheet an attempt to circumvent the cap. 14 years to a 27 year old player, with the majority of the salary (68 million) coming in the first 6 seasons? Come on. That's as bad or worse than the whole Kovalchuk circus.

The first offer the NHL sent over to the PA this week had 5 year contract limits with the same dollars every year, no bonuses. The owners clearly know better but can't help themselves.

They could use some more comprehensive revenue sharing as well. If they insist on 30 teams, a few are always going to struggle.

I'm tired of watching the Braves. Has hockey started yet?

I'm not feeling so bad about the Bruins situation now.

Reports coming in the Rangers and blue jackets have made a deal for Nash. I am on the iPad so I can't post links. Columbus has confirmed they reached a deal. Who the deal involves in unknown.

Neither are Dubinsky, Anisimov, Erixon and the first round pick.
