It is quite feasible that Jack is right! He may be more worthy of a POTY than Cooke is worthy of anything. Fortunately, I had a very busy day and did not have to despair over yet another unexplainable loss while the Penguins just run away. Geeeshhhhhh.

Boston owes a thank you to all that have contributed, sent prayers, thoughts or whatever your persuasion during a difficult week. Thank you to all those that have done any of the above for the victims of what appears to be senseless violence. I will bite my tongue now....

There is never an excuse to include the innocent in your violence. Whether you consider them or not.

Bacon, it keeps people on keel and satisfied.

No Worries - We take care of our own, no matter how divided we get at times - there is no better place to live.

Rangers game last Sunday - when they treated the Devils like red headed step children. They played Sweet Caroline & a female Bruins fan was shown thanking all the NYers - very cool.

We're with U Boston, well at least the Hot Co-eds

Huge win for Minnesota last night over LA. Brown seemingly got away with an elbow to pominville, no word on status but sure looked concussion-ey.

29 minutes on the ice for 19 year old rookie Jonas Brodin, paired as always with Suter. If he isnt a Calder candidate it will be criminal journalistic negligence.

Hmmm....been watching Dustin since he first entered the AHL league...did not see it, but that is not his style of play. I am surprised to hear that. You think he did it purposely?

I don't think he necessarily meant to contact the head (Pominville is short), but his elbow was up for a reason, and came up just prior to the contact.

He has a hearing at noon with the league office - even though no penalty was called on the play - so I'm not alone in thinking it was iffy.

That is going to cost some wampum for sure. I have watched him in numerous live games and cannot ever recall seeing him do that before. He could see Pom coming and pushed off. I doubt he meant to hit him in the head, but he was protecting his real estate in a Matt Cooke manner there. And still lost the puck....

Bad enough to limp into the playoffs, end up the 8 seed and face the Blackhawks. Then this (twitter feed, read bottom up):

Quote:
  1. Michael Russo@Russostrib 5m
If Harding's starting, first in the NHL since giving up two goals on four shots Jan. 30 against the Blackhawks (pulled 6:45 in) #mnwild

  2. Michael Russo@Russostrib 10m
Backstrom apparently took a shot, reached for rebound and got hurt. Still no confirmation if he's not starting #mnwild

  3. Michael Russo@Russostrib 13m
Josh Harding could be starting for #mnwild. He left the ice like a starter with about 4 minutes left. No goalies on ice now.

  4. Michael Russo@Russostrib 16m
Could be a big story brewing here. Niklas Backstrom left the ice during warmups #mnwild

They put up a good fight.
Either the Hawks were laying back or the Wild was out for blood.
This series may be closer than many think.
The Hawks looked a little tired to me.
Your goalie played great.
I'm still hoping for Hawks in 5.

I think the Wild actually benefited from the goalie issue. They collapsed down on D, back checked hard, and played a better team game than usual.

Lots of rookies and others who had never been in the playoffs, pominville practicing but not playing. Could be interesting, but part of me says this was their chance for a road win.

Both teams really laid it out there, the Stanley Cup playoffs really are the toughest tournament in pro sports.

watching the Maple Leafs vs. the Bruins on CBC.

I think the two announcers might go down rinkside and start giving the Bruins handjobs.

Jeexus.

Let's Go Flyers!

Wait...
