New Computer and new GPSMAP 76csx - andy my old maps won't work

Guys, I have killed my old computer, as well as my GPSMAP76.

I bought a new puter and GPSMAP76 Csx, but I can't unlock my Austopo maps every time I try it says product key consumed.

Is there a way to re-load my maps?

Sorry I know there is a search feature but there is so much stuff on here.

Get a hold of the map vendor and explain the situation. They may have a copy of the number you need.

Yeah, this is a garmin map, Garmin have been less than helpful with this, they told me that because the map was already registered to a device (read broken and useless) I could not use it on another device.

Anyone know of any other ways to get this sorted out, I'm not going to fork out another $300 for the same map I already have.

You might try Open Street Maps, (OSM). I use them to route me around the US. Their not perfect, but then again, I'm getting what I paid for.

They're free, the only cost is your time to learn how to download and install them.

No - your map license was for your original unit - not the new unit - so Garmin won't give you a new unlock code. Short of the open map solution, which may be very limited for your part of the world, you are going to have to bite the bullet and buy new maps.

And just so we don't start going there - please everyone read the site rules as it relates to respecting intellectual property rights.
