Arizona and OHV stickers

So I'm curious, can I get by with just registering both of my WR250R's I'm getting as OHV with the decals and still ride them around like normal (on roads and off) without any hassle? or do I need to get it registered as normal AND get the OHV in addition? Does anyone in or out of state really even care?

You need both to ride on dirt and street if that's what you are planning.

Get the OHV sticker as your primary first for $25. The other tag will cost around $3. Easy peasy.....

Oh ok so I'm still paying all the normal fees, just an extra amount for OHV? or is it overall cheaper this way?

I just go in and ask for the OHV as my primary and standard tag as secondary

It is a boat load cheaper. I just registered my 2011 WRR. Cost $7.50 for title transfer and some other tax and $25.00 for the OHV sticker. It's legal any where any time.
Just got the registaration notification for my 2007 f650gs - $4.50 plus $25.00 for the sticker.

You want MC Plates + the OHV decal, total cost is about $30 per year. That gives you access to the street and trails. Arizona allows you to register a dirtbike as street legal, providing you have the necessary vehicle equipment...
Brake light, rear view mirror, horn, and headlight. Blinkers are a good idea, but not actually required AFAIK since the state allows the use of hand signals.

The best thing to do is to renew your registration at the same time you purchase your OHV decal so the two stay syncronized. Personally, I go straight to the DMV to register my bikes. They had me sign a little affidavit that allowed me to pick from Offroad only, Primarily offroad, or Primarily onroad. You want to pick primarily offroad and ask for a MC plate.

You will need to carry state minimum liability insurance to operate on the road, just like any other on road vehicle.

And that's it. There used to be a guy on this website from State Parks that used to answer questions like this, but the dude got run off

Here is some other helpful information:

Similar deal, haven't seen any new trails, but lots of enforcement. It appears the money is used mostly topayfor add'l cops to make sure we have the OHV stickers.

cant comment on california, but in AZ if ya want to complain about how the money is or isnt being spent, at least attend a meeting or two so you can make an informed statement.

i can tell you the money gets spent in several ways,,, but most of them are for good of the off road community not against it.

sandwash your ticket should be dismissed, ive had 3 myself.
