November 13, 2012

Jordi Viladoms joins the team Tamarugal XC BMW supported Barcelona and Speedbrain

The runner-up will run the 2013 edition of the Dakar on a bike Husqvarna.

Jordi Viladoms has ensured their participation in the Dakar through a double deal with BMW Speedbrain and Barcelona, on one hand, and XC Tamarugal the other.

Speedbrain, the team that manages the official Husqvarna team in Dakar, will facilitate his bike to current World Rally Championship runner-up cross country, while the official BMW dealer has dealt Barcelona close the deal that made possible their participation in the next edition of the South American rally raid with one of the best options.

Jordi Viladoms has been very pleased at the prospect of running with a Husqvarna TE449RR of Speedbrain: "It is a bike that has made an incredible progress this year and I am convinced that her performance will be very good. I am grateful to BMW Barcelona because without them this option would not be possible. "

After reaching an agreement with BMW Speedbrain and Barcelona, Viladoms explains that "the next goal was to find a team to provide assistance during the race, and XC Tamarugal was presented as an extraordinary way to complete this second step."

Tamarugal XC is one of the teams most important extreme sports in the Americas and one of its objectives is the Dakar. The 'Yellow Jackets', color that characterizes the team are knowledgeable experts develops the land where the toughest test of rallying and their ranks are Prohens brothers, Daniel Gouet, Claudio Rodríguez, Jorge Villagra and Francisco Lopez .

"From day one, the team was excited Tamarugal XC possibility we started a joint project for the Dakar 2013 and so far have done all that was in his hands, taking into account the calendar, to be brought to part of its structure, "said the pilot of Igualada.

According to Javier Campillay, Tamarugal XC team manager, "we feel a great joy to have in our team Jordi Viladoms. Having the current runner-up is the best way to demonstrate the seriousness with which it works Tamarugal XC, and is also something historic for the Chilean sport. Adding to Jordi vest and we have formed a strong team with nothing to envy to any global fleet. It will be a great contribution to all our riders and we expect this to be reflected in the Dakar ".

Viladoms thanked Tamarugal bet, and BMW Speedbrain Barcelona less than two months after starting the race: "I knew it would be difficult at this point and my words of thanks for giving me this collaboration in such a short time. Hopefully return this help with good results and I am sure that with this bike and this team are a little closer to get it. But the work is not over yet, there are many things to do and many preparations for the Dakar, and among them is the task continue to seek potential sponsors who want to join the project. "

Got a load of pics from Milan and will post later. Suffice it to say that it is still in 'show' trim and definitely not 'ready to race' yet. There is some work to do before that bike heads off to South America !

Many other TM here
http://www.clubtenereitalia.it/viewt...chris2&start=0

by Christian CH2 himself. He writes this Eicma bike is the "show" one, the definitive Zanotti's for this next
Dakar will have 33 lt fuel instead of 30, maybe other little modifies? Let's see

I noticed for the first time the Dakar site has a competitor log in area. I suppose this is where the riders are getting their numbers. Quite a few popping up on twitter.

Numbers have been posted 'in the post' as far as I know and top riders have had their numbers assigned for the coming 2 years.

Press was out on Nov 12th.

Verhoeven 2 or 3 weeks back.
