Work has resumed!
We hired the site and septic guy back to do some more rock walls and finish the driveway. Kinda hurts to hire him to do stuff that I can do, but he's proven how good (and fast) he is, and I've found that I just don't have the time. You'll also notice that our overhangs have taken shape and the character of the house is starting to come out. We should have a real roof on within 2 weeks- GC is hoping late next week. Unfortunately these pictures of the rock wall don't do it justice- it's really stunning in real life. Maybe it's just that way to us, because we know what it looked like before (like a bomb went off!). ![]()

Lookin good! It must be fun to look back at old pics of the site when it was just in the beginning stages. It's really starting to look like a house now!

We're at one of those stages where work is happening but it doesn't show.
They're working on exterior trim and soffit detail. Ok Seriously how do you spell soffit?
And the driveway is done and looks awesome. Everything near the driveway has been spruced up.
Windows and doors came in the other day and are showing up on site late next week. Gable ends are closed in now. Nothing terribly exciting, but progress is progress.

That looks great!
What did you use for the driveway? Did you use geotextile fabric at all?

Yeah if the snow will hold off for another couple weeks I've got loam to spread along with other final touches around the house. Then the major cleanup begins and that will take years.

Pushed the "new posts" button and found this
![]() House looks very nice. Been following the various foam construction techniques and they seem to take less time to erect and offer better insulation than traditional stick framing. About the only thing faster seems to be pre-fab (only because it's built offsite and craned into place and what you see is house at the end of the day.). How's the interior coming along? |

Just cause it's always interesting to know: Origin of SOFFIT French soffite, from Italian soffitto, from Vulgar Latin *suffictus, past participle of Latin suffigere to fasten underneath — more at suffix First Known Use: 1592 Good to see the progress, with Sandy having passed through I was wondering whether you had been sidelined by storm damage. Keep them updates coming!
