Great rides by several. Buby was awsome, laying down the hammer at the end. Gagne was right with him most of the way, even making a pass a couple times. Best ride Beach has had in a long time. He sort of let them get away in the dying laps. The Gerloff kid went backwards, but then started finding his speed. I don't think he has been there before. He fought back up setting fastest lap a couple times. Not sure who Jake Lewis is, but I'm now a fan. He is as fast as anybody.

The Rispo kid doesn't really have the pace. He looks pretty over rated to me.

Tomorrow should play out differently I think. Beach and Gagne might have a few more tenths.

What the heck was wrong with Larry Pegram this weekend? He felt that the BMW was keeping him off the podium last season, but now he is on the Yamaha factory bike and he had a terrible outing at his home track!

He crashed on the sighting lap on Sunday, made it back in time for the start of the race, and ran it off the track through the sand at the end of the back straight.

I could not understand why he stayed with the bike all the way (and it's a long way) to the tire barrier. He hit the barrier with enough energy to flip him over the handlebars!

Anyone know what fan bike leaked the oil on the track?

In other racing news-- the Yamaha teams are sure looking like they have the total package (again).

Isn't yamaha the only factory effort out there?

Yosh is a shadow of its former self. One of their riders buys his seat. I don't know how much support they get from Suzuki, but it certainly doesn't appear to be anything like what Graves enjoys from Yamaha.

The EBR and KTM efforts can't be compared to Yamaha's.

No Kawasaki. No Honda. No Ducati. No BMW.

The Superbike class is beyond stale. But without more funded teams or seats, how is that going to improve?

^^^^^ No doubt about it.

I don't do cable or satellite since about 2008. I watch strictly online, which, with AMA/DMG means I don't get to see much. But I did watch the SBK race yesterday and I hate to say I was disappointed. The series still looks very bush league to me. Like Yosh, a shadow of its former self.

Once upon a time AMA SBK was a big deal.

I know they are trying and I give them credit for that. But they had dug themselves a pretty deep, ugly hole.

Bike sales need to rebound which may or may not happen. Without going too far off topic, it may not be a good thing if credit is as easy to get as it was in the middle of the last decade. Maybe we won't see bike sales near a million units a year for a loooong time.
