Bordeaux sucks!
Last winery was not so good.
Makes me think now that all French women are not great kissers.
I am not going to mention which winery it was but the even charged me for the tour and tasting..........ME!
World famous wine guru.
Oh well
I think I still love Bordeaux
Just not all of them.
And that is what is nice........to know what you like.
For some people it takes a life time to figure out what they like and then they die

Geeezzzzz, did we wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning??? I will trade you Ed, you take my place and go into the office today, and I will finish the Bordeaux section for you.

Actually, I have week long boys trip through Colorado next week. So, we'll have swap our jobs the following week.

You mean wake up on the wrong side of the hammock.

I am just trying to convey my passion that I am feeling here in Bordeaux.
When it is good it is like fireworks going off in your mouth.
And when its bad, it can be such a let down because my hopes were high.
I am having the time of my life here.
Its a dream come true.
I am in France and tasting wines from Bordeaux.
Its all about passion and I am trying to explain in words what I am feeling at any given moment.

I had my best tasting so far at Lafond Rochet.
Four different vintages of the same wine.
And amazing how different they all were.
I had the chateau manager show me around.
And remember me talking about the passion of the French? Well it really showed here at the winery.
The wines were great because of this passion.

My second tasting at Leoville Poyferre were some of the best wines I have had so far.
I am taking back what I said earlier.
Bordeaux makes some of the best wine in the world.
I have been swept up in the passion and I am in love again.
Like women......find the wrong ones and it will leave you scratching your head wondering what in the hell you were thinking. But the right woman will make you do crazy things like drop $200 on a bottle of Bordeaux. Because when you are in love, you get caught up in that passion and everything else doesn't seem to matter.
Did I mention that I love Bordeaux?
Sure you talk about wine?
Sonds like you have to meet Kathe asap...
love your RR

The food of course goes with all this great wine.
Here I am dropping some coin and taking a break from the pasta I cook up at camp

Tasting the 2006 Pontet Canet.......YUM!. I was excited to see which wines the chateaus would pour for tasting. With the exception of one, they are poured their not so good vintages. The 2009 and 2010 were epic here in Bordeaux (this winery got 100 points for both) and I was hoping that they would open those. But in their defense, those wines are not ready to drink and a vintage like 2006 or 2007 are more approachable now.

still with ya Lalo, and loving every post! the running with the bulls is nuts, big cajones! well done.

i'm glad you got the report back on track and moved past the buffoons throwing sh!t at you, your report is so great because you tell it in your words, and the way you see it! if we didn't like your style, we wouldn't still be here reading along with you after the past year.

as for "them", ignore their posts and trolling. they'll likely never get out from behind the keyboard and actually DO anything like you have.

vive le lalo!

oh yeah, do french girls really have hairy pits?

I'm finally all caught up!

I just discovered this thread on Sunday evening. It took me a big chunk of three evenings plus a couple hours at work to get through the whole thing.

Your blog has been a great read. You are great at telling the story, in both words and pictures.

I just wanted to post up and say thanks for the time and effort you have put into sharing your travels with us. I'm sure it's not always easy finding a solid internet connection (not to mention the time) to upload all those photos, but we appreciate it.

My $.02

Still here brah and loving it. Love the unvarnished Ed...as if there is another version! Agree we are the world's police force. They riot and burn flags when we are not there to help. They riot and burn flags when we stay to keep the peace. Love hate. I am ok with that as you can't please everyone. I lived in Europe and loved most of it. But there is no doubt there is a strong sentiment from a lot of European's that they are better than us. The fact is we all bleed red, we love our family and way of life. The best thing about America is freedom. Freedom to walk where you want, say what you want, and read what you want. Don't like wine, stop reading, don't like Ed's nip slip pics, stop reading(actually I almost had to abandon the blog after seeing those pics) stop reading, dislike what Ed says about your country, welcome to how most American's feel when we turn on the "world" news and read in your news papers and see/read the anti-American sentiment. Ride on amigo and KCCO!
