You mean "stupid enough"

There are times that I know it will be fun to look back at.........like today
But when I am living in the moment...............sometimes I am thinking..........................what in the fuck am I doing.....................get me outta of here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But now that I am finishing a nice dinner
I have a warm dry room to go back to
Some wine (not good stuff though)
I am glad I am that stupid enough

Ed,

Your excellent ride report and pictures leave all of us wanting more and more. You have done what we all wish to do but are not courageous enough to do!

I have been a traveling salesman for most of my adult life and know the loneliness you face from time to time. In my busiest time I spent around 250 nights per year on the road. Fortunately I have a VERY understanding wife who kept everything together at home. You will, in future years, learn that these travel times allowed you to "know" yourself so much better than the average person. And you will be glad you took the time for this journey.

Safe travels!
Keith

New Years Eve

Here is how I spent my New Years Eve in San Ignacio Belize...........doing some maintenance on my bike.
Oil and air filter change
I replaced the brake and clutch levers with some stubby ones. The orginal ones are more likely to break beacuse they are longer if the bike tips over

Here some of the fire ants that made a home under my tent. I had them crawling everywhere. And yes, their bite hurts. I had a few

I camped out on this ranch just outside of San Ignacio Belize. The sun was going down and I started to ask around where to camp. It looked like a scary area and they pointed me down this dirt road. I followed it and I was just about ready to give up when I found it. It was a little bit of paradise owned by some gringos. Highly recommended

Tikal Guatemala

This is Guatemala's number one tourist attraction. It was a large Mayan city with some nice pyramids.
It was so large, it took me almost 5 hours to see everything.
I have been to several ruins sites all through Mexico and nw Guatemala - and each one is a bit different.
The pyramids here with steeper and had a more verticle back side

Here the tops of the pyramids pop up from out of the middle of the jungle
Tikal is truly in the middle of no where
But it was somewhere 600+ years ago
