good Karma

I am doing my best to ensure I have good karma on this trip.
At the hot springs, the owner wanted us to pay another two bucks for coming back the next morning. We camped out and we were there only about 14 hours. We even over paid the evening before.
But he yelled at me for not paying in the morning. He said that he wished me bad luck on my trip.
I left, walked about a hundred yards and turned around and paid hin his two dollars.
I just dont want the bad karma on my trip.
This morning, the hostel owner under charged me for my stay. He forgot to include my surf board rental. I told him about the mistake and paid the extra amount.
That's good karma
Funny how karma works.........at the gas station about an hour later, I accidentally over paid.and the guy pointed it out and didn't keep the extra money for himself.
Good karma
It's working for me

Great report, great monkey ! What kind of price did you get on the sail boat vs the cargo plane to Columbia.
I heard $1300us for bike and passenger on a plane, is that about right ?
I am hoping to make the trip sometime this year.
Right now I am heading to Baja to see the whales

Thank you for any and all the information you are sharing here.

Good Kama always gets good Karma, even if it is only you feeling good about it !

Good luck and ride safe.

BMW Maintenance and tyres

Here in Bogota you might as well give your bike a well deserved maintenance. They have very talented tech people here for the BMWs, and I know a couple of guys who could give you a very good price on tyres. Even a friend of mine is importing the Heidenau tyres if you are interested. Let me know when you are getting close and see if I can help in any way. Best of luck, good karma and safe travels.

the guy I met on the KLR is flying his motorcycle to Colombia
The cost is $1000 plus the cost of you plane ticket.
The sailboats are about the same price
But you get 5 days cruising thru the San Blas Islands.
Easy choice for me.

my new plan

I have a new plan
Since my gf has moved on, I have nothing to hurry back home to.
Originally I agreed to do the trip in phases and she was going to meet me along the way.
But she gave up on that plan about 3 Weeks after we met up at my friend's beautiful place I Mexico
Sorry if I sound bitter
Just need to vent
So here is my new plan......
Ride from here to Argentina.
I will not have time to go to Patagonia this year
I want to ship my bike to Europe in May
In Octiber, I will store my bike in Europe and fly to Australia and buy a cheap bike and travel there for 3 months during their summer
Then come back in February and head down the east coast of Africa
Then ship my bike back to Argentina and ride back to the US
That way I can make it to Patagonia then.
That brings me back to the US about 2 years from now.
I want to then fly to India, buy a new Royal Enfield 500 for about $3000 & travel thru India and all south east asia.
of course, all of that is conditioned on two things......
One, I have the money to do it all. I might need to take it easy on buying wine in Europe
Lol
And two......I don't meet some girl in Argentina at one of the wineries and spend the rest of my life make wine and love in Mendoza...
It could happen
too bad we can't fast forward to the end of the book to see how it all works out
ha ha

Plan your work, work your plan...a failure to plan, is only a plan to fail...you get the idea. Since you are on the mend, kinda, feel free to share pics of those that are helping you through the grieving process. KCCO amigo!

Hopefully the new GF thing will work out, that would be the best thing for sure!

But aren't you worried about the Mercedes, Porsches, Bimotas, Ducatis and vintage bikes you left in storage at the old GF's house?

On the other hand i can offer you a place for the bike during the winter and give you a ride to Frankfurt International Airport.

I'll ask my friend to save a couple for you, he is the distributor for those tyres here so I think his price will be fair. I'll tell him to set up an advrider.com special rate or something heh.

Dont know how you are getting here, we shipped our bikes on the Stahlratte and flew to Cartagena as we missed to reserve our spot on the boat. Supposedly the biggest ship doing the crossing, Ludwig is a good captain and a honorable man. Quite a character if you ask me and the boat is really an experience.

Glad you realized that going home needs no rush, now a new trip begins. Make the best of it, looks to me you are doing it already. Update on your status and chime in if you need anything from here. Safe travels happy riding!
