This has more to do with UK pricing than anything else. Take a piece of Microsoft software that is US $79, it is UK £79($128) but € 63 ($81) yet that same piece of software is $43 list price in Chinese Renminbi. It is all to do with local markets, taxing and other costs. Why pretty much anything in the UK is higher than elsewhere, who knows but it can't be that subsidies are provided on everything.

The Base price was meant to be the pre-tax price here in the UK , which would equate to a US base price. After VAT (Sales Tax) the price in the UK is nearer $16K.

I have discovered that each Max BMW store will have a demo 650GT by late October or early November. I am awaiting the order confirmation and VIN.

Huntington Beach yesterday on pacific coast hwy. red 650gt best described as quick. Called my dealer this morning, were first to get one, she was surprised as release date end of month. Few calls later it appears motorcycle mags have a couple out for testing review. Nice looking scoot
