install citynav NA NT from a Thumbdrive

I have a new montana and a new copy of CNNA on a disc and my notebook dont have a cd reader. I have copied the CNNA disc to a thumbdrive to install on my net book and I cant make it load.
when I try and run the bootstrap application extension all i get is the map updater and since i have not installed the map yet i have no need to update
help for an old guy that dont really understand computers?

If you have another computer that you can network with your netbook, just copy the whole disk across your network to a folder on the netbook and install from there.

+1. I had the same? problem trying to install from a thumb drive and had to just copy the CD onto the notebook computer via my local network.

Setting up the network was a little tricky. I can't remember the details but I had to go thru a Network Setup wizard on my desktop and create a networking architecture file on a thumb drive and then copy that to the notebook to get the network up and running. I was going from XP on the desktop to Windows 7 on the notebook and got a few error messages, but it works great now.

i had read the "read this first" and have done the disk to thumbdrive in the older mapsource programs but the new one wont work. I was hoping to do load it up now while out on the road. guess it will have to wait till i get home
