So, RT 17 leaving Charma, NM is unique in the sense that it a nice chunk of tarmac that actually has curves. I think we were so excited after 6 days of no turns, we almost forgot a bike could turn!

Well, down to the last few clips I will probably post. I imagine those should be completed in the new few days. I've already posted my final thoughts per Shibby's request last week. So, soon enough this RR will close out to the archives!

CO-Pikes Peak

Since I seem to be in a curves mood, here is a 2 min clip of Pikes Peak. We had some fog, so patched a few clips together crudely.

However about the 1:32 min mark, two bikes stop in the road. There is a mountain goat (75 lb or so) about 10 yards up the hillside, which you can see his silhouette as the bikes leave.

Also, notice how varied the terrain becomes as we cross the tree line.

Glacier National Park

J4S did a run though Glacier National Park on his way east. This road has it all--twisties, an emerald green meandering river, snow capped mountains, a tunnel with two looking windows, and a waterfall!

J4S-- do tell us where this mighty nice section of tarmac lives?

CO--Boreas Pass

Also known as Brekenridge Pass, the summit is somewhat intriguing when you find a box car...with no rails in sight!

Quote:
[The rail line over the pass was a major engineering feat, primarily because of the winter snows at high altitude. When completed, it had dozens of snow sheds along its route, which approached a 4% grade in many places.
There is also this funky water tower on the same road:

You've always imagined the CDR would be like this...it is!

Last Vid

Well, I think I have found the majority of the decent footage and posted it. So, this will probably be the last vid and the last post as I close out on this RR.

Happy trails all!
