Yet another good review. Looks like the bike could be a good machine..

Not yet. Dealer launch is the start of November.
Had a bit of a shock doing price comparisons on the big tour / sport rigs.
Over here the Trophy is cheaper than both the C14 and the new FJR - and yet for you guys stateside, the reverse is true.
Weird.

Triumphs are farkin' expensive new here in Japan. I can buy a reimport Crosstourer or S10 for about $4K cheaper than a T12.

Triumph is on a creative streak;

800GS copy, check
1200GS copy, check
1200RT copy, check.

What's next? Combine 2 triple engines and copy the K1600?
I was kind of hoping to see the Rocket motor in a big GT bike.

The old FJR is 14500, the C14 is 13,600 and the pan is 14,000. The base Trophy is 13,000 give or take - but has higher spec as standard than all it's rivals.

The price of the FJR in the UK is a joke. A sick one.

got a chance to sit on this baby at Barber's Vintage over the weekend. Also chat with the Triumph rep. Here is what I came away with.

- Just a tad under 700 lbs, wet and with all three bags. I will say it is a behemoth. Looks are closest to the ST1300. I really didnt see the BMW connection.
- Bags and topbox are standard equipment
- More do dads and farkles than you can shake a stick at are standard.
- Wind shield height is adjustable by about a foot or so. From above head height to below the chin.
- Egodynamics: (I am 6'. 32" seam). Arms were very comfy. No percepatable lean at all, very straight up seating position. Pegs felt a little high, legs a little cramped. This was with the seat in the low position.
- The seat seems wide and comfortable. ?might? not need a custom seat.

Oh, and I almost forgot. 900+ watts of electrical power......

The R1200RT is missing a lot of basic stuff in its base configuration, which is why dealers pretty much never stock it that way. It's really more like $20k.

Easily!! $20 + The revised FJR looks like a real bargain for what you get.
