You didn't by chance pick that up at MCC in Villa Park did you ? I was in there a couple of weeks ago and they had a blue one sitting on the floor with a sold sign on it.

I'm in the exact same boat right now. The trophy is calling me something fierce, but i'm having problems with the thought of getting an old man bike, no matter how luxurious. The Tiger is good for putting down the miles, but I suspect the Trophy would put down 600-800 mile days back to back with no problem.

Surprising to me, but I can't seem to do more than about 250 miles without feeling bad / sore / worn out. I used to ride cruisers a lot more than that in a day. I'm thinking a combo of the crap seat and the just out of reach bars on the XC is causing my issues. That, or I'm just rationalizing myself into buying the Trophy

I have a Madstad screen on. It works nearly perfect. Force of wind isn't a problem

Trophy vs. Sprint GT

So even tho I have a 2011 Multi S Touring and a F800GS ( very different bikes ..same riding position) I really want a triple of some sort. I love the Street and Speed Triples but they are... well.. they are what they are. So then the Trophy comes around and I think that may be the bike I want for long distance/sport touring. Then.. I find a couple of NEW 2011 ( oxymoron) Sprint GT's that the dealers here in the US can't get rid of for 11k so I take one for a ride. Loved it. Not sure about the leaned over riding position mainly because I am not used to it, but for the money it seems like one heck of a great value. Granted it has almost no whistles and bells that the Trophy has but it comes with ABS and the same exact bags that the Trophy has... I don't know if I should pull the trigger or wait for the new Trophy to get sorted out and get that in a year or so.. thoughts??

Well, for beginners, there's a huge price difference. The Trophy is over $20K as opposed to $11,000.
If my experience is any guide, you'll get used to the riding position pretty quickly and actually learn to like it a lot. As long as there's room for your knees and not too much kink in your neck or weight on your wrists, it's a pretty neutral stance that takes a load off your lower back.
I love the Trophy from what I've seen of it and want to ride one soon.
But don't discount the Sprint GT. You may just fall in love with it.

Over $20K? Someone is marking it up beyond normal then.

At $18,999 With ABS, Freight and set-up it should still be under $20k.

Well, in my neck of the woods, a list price Trophy of $ 18,999.00 with 7.25 tax bounces the price up to $ 20,376. Figure that these bikes are going to bring top dollar for a while and you'll be paying set up and freight, which minimum is another $ 600 and you're brushing $ 21,000 in real world dollars. Dan wasn't too far off now was he ?

The GT is a wonderful bike-4 1/2 stars in MCN. Risers on the bars are a big improvment.
A HUGE bargin now that it's an orphan.
