Hey, Nomiles, I know where that is. Near the Honda/Yamaha dealer.

1953 MG TD XPAG engine. 1.25 litre, 50 screaming hp, twin SU 1.25" carbs. I may not be able to control this beast when I get it on the road.

Here's what I'm currently up to with mine. Any guesses?

Here's a hint: It involves making very accurate plots of valve motion with a laser. I'll be done building this beast in about two weeks. It can go beyond 10K rpm if I am ATGATT.

Looks good tho. Proportional.

I always wanted a "big rod."

The family has this sitting in a shed in AR.

I always thought it would make a good donor vehicle. Then again, I've thought of restoring is as is and putting a nice period-looking camper on the bed. Not a ding on it, (rare for a work/farm vehicle) and despite the surface rust, it's as solid as a rock.

How a bout a stroboscope slow-motion video of the valvegear running? That's one of the first things I'll be able to do.

Now of course, this is assuming I haven't majorly screwed anything up in the design! So far, it looks OK. Only minor Aw-Shits.

mmmm...ok. that would be good too, but the 10,000 RPM sound is what I want to hear!

DOOD?

You might want to replace that ape tape on the idler pulley with some bolts and bailin wire before you spin-er up.

No need for that. There's at least a 2x factor of safety in the masking tape belt drive. 20K rpm would be no problem.
