I've seen pictures of everything except the rings. How did they expand evenly?

Honda won't publish photos or explain how they made them.Honda makes the worlds best rings.Honda exists because of poor rings made by someone else. And here's some engine porn for ya.

If you look straight down at the piston, the long sides are also curved.

I just picked this up over the weekend. I will be stripping it down and fully cleaning the aluminum block to look new. Then will be making a glass top coffee table out of it for my theater room.

It is a BMW V-12 block out of a 750il. I own one and talk about a fantastic motor. The faster you go, the harder it pulls.

I'll post more when it is clean.
I am doing similar with a holden (General Motors) V6 block, found two of tehm at the local tip, had one of them. goign to be a long project though. no rush

there was also a dumped Jaguar straight 6 with DOHC, I had the rocker covers off that as well to clean up and do something with

History baby! All part of the evolution of GP motorcycle racing. Honda tried to beat out Yamaha and Suzuki with this unit. It is amazing, they tried everything.

I've got a buddy with several V-12 blocks for his '41 lincoln- that would make a nice coffee table base. I'll have to see if he has one to part with.

I've read there's lots of those BMW V12's on the scrap heap because the engine management systems are just way too god awful complicated to fix once they start to go sideways.

I saw a writeup of one being used in a kit supercar where the builder used a pair of aftermarket I6 EFI controller systems intended for use on a BMW 2.5-3 liter I6 with great success. Even used cats and o2 sensors and met smog specs for that year.
