any one of these lumps mounted on the wall would still be considered art.

Had to go all the way to work to e-mail these to myself....

30MW rotor in high speed balance bunker

15MW (I think) generator rotor to be balanced

15MW turbine complete - no driven equiptment, being loaded onto a truck

sorry couldn't easily dig up any legal CT turbine pictures to post, or Nuclear turbine rotors (suckers go to 14ft Ø & 120tons for the mid-size LP's)

Yep, the end result would be the same.

I used to think that, before I saw to many of the damn things.

I love steam turbines and gen sets - they are machines with souls. like an old BMW, Duc or Goose.

I pretty much stay away from the CT stuff (combustion turbine - like a jet engine tuned for torque not thrust) as I find them as souless as a Japanesse inline 4

I just picked this up over the weekend. I will be stripping it down and fully cleaning the aluminum block to look new. Then will be making a glass top coffee table out of it for my theater room.

It is a BMW V-12 block out of a 750il. I own one and talk about a fantastic motor. The faster you go, the harder it pulls.

I'll post more when it is clean.

Well I am no picture posting expert but, I have a couple of suggestions for engine art.

Offenhauser midget or indy car engine, way cool and they sound awesome.
I have seen a few at vintage sprint car and midget meets.
very cool to hear some of the old timers take them out for a spin around the track and get them dirty.

My dad always talks about how great the old Novi indy car engine was.

I did find a website that has some cool car pictures, some engine pictures and some very cool sound files of running engines.
