Ben , if that is this year's bull elk, I will put my " dibbs' in for a little hunk of back strap off that beauty.!!!
Nice way to feed that awesome family also. Many years my family of 3 kids lived on wild game. Got to the point beef tasted too 'tallow", if that is the word I am searching for ![]() ride on, gale |

Yeah sorry. I actually have been really busy; all those pics were from a brief Sunday night/Monday interlude. |

I know how this is going to sound....so try and take it with a grain of salt. I cannot stomach wild game at all. I chalk it up to eating store bought meat all my life. Elk, Moose, Bison.....I just can't do it.
I have relatives that hunt and who've tried to pass off moose meat as beef during family get togethers and whatnot....no matter how the meal was prepared....I could always tell......and I didn't eat it. It's too bad really....39 years old and a seriously picky eater....still....

Awesome RR, just looked through all the pretty pictures again today.
My son and I have just relocated to the south peace area this month, currently bike-less , but can't wait to explore the country side further come spring on 2 wheels. And hopefully follow some of your tracks - bought the same 'GPS' as you last week. Does my heart good to see that not all back road exploring done in the peace country is not via truck mounted 4 wheeled ATV's. Nothing against ATV's at all, just 2 wheels are 2 wheels. Also a driver of RHD vehicles for the last 11 years, though the last 5 were in Thailand, a fisherman and a wanna be hunter one day soon. Though I'll admit that a Safari is in my future. Thanks for the inspiration Ben. |

It's not that you have to be starving to eat game, you just have to reset your system. Also game should be prepared and cooked correctly - not in the same way as bland supermarket beef.

Exactly how I got over not enjoying river fish....now it's all I think about. Can't wait to taste the venison I bring home this fall, it's hard teaching yourself to hunt and fish without a mentor and in a major city. Wish I lived in the boonies.
