Rest in peace Dr. Cool
I only met Dave a few times, but his outgoing friendly attitude always left an impression on me. I rode with Dave to my first adv ride for the 2008 Spring Kick Off ride and was immediately impressed with his love of his family and passion for motorbikes. Sincere condolences to Dave’s family and friends |

I only met Dave once in 2010 at KTM Mike's summer ride, he left a lasting impression. Dave had a spark that seemed to ignite happiness in others. This is another lesson to enjoy what we have while we have it.
My condolences to Dave's family and friends. zeeker1 screwed with this post 07-16-2012 at 08:13 PM |

It was great to see everyone but wish the situation wasn't what it was. Dave was the epitome of the ADV spirit. His heart was so big it could never be filled and something Ron (motoaxe) said was bang on. Dave was someone you want to be like. Celebrate his life and one more thing I know, is that I was lucky to call him a friend, ride with him and know him.
Cheers Dr.Cool, you'll always be in our hearts, souls and thoughts.

Closing another chapter
I'd like to thank you all for coming along today and for your support.
I have been a mixed bag of emotions this past week and seeing all of you getting together like this made it much better. Ron said something in his eulogy that hit the spot- like Doughy mentioned-, I wished more than once to be like him. In the short 4 years that I've known him, I've learned more about respect, love and passion from David than all my previous years combined - and I'm old This is my pledge to him: I will spend my remaining years on earth trying to be just like him, and although it would take 10 of me to make one of him, I will give it all I got. For the remainder of you hooligans that are close to the family, we have 2 beautiful children to raise (edit:help Maggie raise) and my dear Margaret that is one of the kindest, gentlest people I've had the honor to meet. Your family will always be in my heart, I will share your pain, as much as I've shared all the most wonderfull moments so far. Raise a glass for our Dr tonight, because tomorrow, we ride again

Thank you all who attended, from one who couldn't.
Well done.

That was a great send-off.
I haven't said anything here because I couldn't come up with anything meaningful to say that hadn't already been said many times. Dave always wanted to try a wheelie on my 1150RT geezer bike, and never got the chance. Now I guess I'll have to find a good place to practice some of those, just for him. Big smile, bigger laugh, huge heart, boundless generosity. I'll miss ya, Dave. ![]() Here's to you
