I've been busy lately and wanted to get this on here earlier but this "event" has been on my mind.

After the funeral, Den and I were driving home to Ottawa. We stopped at the highway rest stop just west of Kingston for a break and just after we got back on the highway on the on-ramp, at 10:30 pm, I looked left to merge and we were side by side and matched for speed with the Nickle Brook beer van. It was like a little nod from Dave. It took us both by surprise.

The van then accelerated and took off ahead of us down the highway, so I'm sure it was Dave in there somewhere.

Swung my leg over the saddle tonight...no opportunity to ride since the funeral and I had a dinner to go to so I figured what the hell, take the bike.

As I started up the bike and slipped on the helmet, my thoughts immediately went to Dave again. I figure that's gonna happen everytime. Still can't believe he's gone.

Same here :(

The good part is that I know he was riding along with me in a couple of occasions already.
It's funny when you're in the zen mode of riding, how much energy you can pick up from your surroundings....

Rest in Peace

I've heard of Dave's tragic accident earlier but I haven't had the courage to post, since I just met him twice last year.
Condolences to his family, I cannot begin to imagine their loss.

I took a short video of David demonstrating how his beer-can stove works when I passed by his house in the end of april last year (2011). On my tour across Canada and the U.S., David was one of the most remarkable persons I've met.

Enjoy your ride tomorrow.

Hi everyone first of all I would like to thank you for the tremendous support that all of you have extended to our family. I don’t think drcool realized how many people he had touched with his infectious smile, open heart and many post on ADV. What a wonderful extended family we all belong to. Dave would be proud to know that our friends have been so generous and compassionate to us. Your prayers, thoughts and words during this difficult time have been sincerely embraced and I hold each of them close to my heart. Our journey will be a long one but I know that by keeping his memory alive Dave will be with all of us forever. Tuesday night is still alive at the Morrison house. A tradition that has been with us for so long that I welcome all to enjoy. Thany you to Lawrence Hacking, Cath , Les and everyone at Dual Sport for organizing the ride today. I's sure drcool was doing a wheelie past each of you as he rode by. Again on behalf of misscool (Chynna) and juniorcool (Shane) I thank you from the bottom of my heart. mrscool
