IMO, I certainly don't think there's anything wrong with someone chiming in with quick information like what he gave. Especially when a big part of a trip, especially on bikes like this, is how the hell one can carry stuff. This site thrives on recommendations. Could be destinations, experiences, bikes or equipment. If some of it comes from the people that sell the stuff and are more knowledgable about it, so be it.

Long time lurker, first time poster
AntiHero,
This is my first post, signed up just to give you proprs. Thanks for the great thread and taking up my entire Sunday evening haha. I found this thread on BARF and it's definitely delivered. I will try my best to live by always pushing to the limit, for I've always been insecure of being mediocre. Great lessons learned here. Cheers, and do let us know if you end up coming back to SF for a drink. The BARF salute is 2 ADVrider salutes btw, lol we riders are jerks. -Albert Ducati 998 KTM 690 |

I'm in a very strange place right now that I will most likely never understand. One of those times in my life that, if I could verbalize, I probably still wouldn't (some secrets should remain secret). I've read all the responses above a few times and I'm still surprised to find that so many are following along.
So let me turn back to easier times: Scottsdale, AZ. After the 1000 miler, I crashed at the Springfield Suites, had a very strange Greek dinner across the street (packets of butter gingerly placed on top of salad greens?) and crashed out. The next morning I met up with flynturbo. We first talked while I was in Martha's Vineyard. I thought I'd been doing miles, but he's a jet pilot and makes Maine to Boston look like a stroll from the house to the mailbox and back. ![]() Had a great breakfast and now he's in a truck with his brother moving from AZ to FL. Good guy, good times. One of the dudes on the trip I'm destined to meet again. And one of just a few people I've met (or even read about) who abandoned a life of regulated 'simplicity' and profitable desperation for a life of uncertainty and satisfaction. |

Anti Hero, This is my first post too, joined this site just for you! lol. AMAZING ride report by the way, Me and about 6 other people i work with have been following you via this website for 4 or 5 months now! never a dull moment!
And i have to say it, you inspired me to do the same as you. I'm in the navy currently on my 4th deployment, Once i get back state side I start the process of getting out, I'm going to have 2 months of paid vacation and then a few more months until i start college. My plan right now is for a good friend of mine who is EX navy and myself to head north till we hit Canada, Turn left, head west until we see water, turn left, head south until Mexico, turn left, head east until water and head north again to end up back in VA. Then pack up my things, propose to my girl and head back home to Ohio. All on a couple of sporty's lol. Anyways Wanted to say thanks for the inpiration and a great RR that kept a bunch of people entertained for months on end! |

I've been following along myself, excellent stuff!
Did you discuss this already... I was curious how the hell you travel cross country and back with just that small bag on the back of the Ducati. I'm guessing you are also carrying a laptop and camera equipment. So whats the scoop, how do you cram everything in that single Kriega bag? Or do you also have a backpack or something we don't see in the pics?
