Dunlop 606 or Pirelli MT21 ???

I have ran the Dunlop 606's since the bike was a week old. Thinking of changing to the Pirelli MT21. I do alot of real off road and need a meaty dirt tire. I just want to know the feedback or opinions of these two tires. I dont need to know about the K60's, the TKC80's etc. Just some honest opinions from real riders of these two.

606s are softer compound than the MT21

Sidewall will damn near keep you running on near no air psi w/ the MT21.

I'm a light 150 lb rider so others may not get the same treatment.

Both tread designs are near equal.

It's odd to hear that because when I ran an MT21 on the front, it was sawtoothing badly with less than 500 miles on it. I've only had one so maybe it was a fluke, but I've noticed a similar pattern on other bikes (DR650s, KLRs, etc).

And for the 606s, I've gone through multiple pairs and they always wear predictably and in a manner that doesn't affect how they handle.

I thought the I dusty standard for a ds whip that sees mostly dirt was 606 rear, 21 front...?

I have always found the MT21 more predictable out front, and the D606 has more bite out back.

I have heard this mt21 front and 606 back. It just goes against my grain to mix match tire brands. I'm so torn, keep using the d606's or switch it up. It's hard to switch from something that works so good

That`s what I was going to suggest. If the front tire starts to scallop due to too much bitumen, just spin it around on the rim. I ride an BMW R1100GS and am running a TCK80 front and a Heidenau K60 Scout rear, which is a good combination (for this bike). Currently have a bit over 17,000 kilometres on them, spun the TKC around at 9,000Km and still have a few thousand Km left.

Had both a number of times on my XR4 and i like both but i like the round shape of the 606 rear but the mt21 front has better bit. so mt21 front 606 rear IMHO

I used to run a 606 rear with an MT21 front, until I ordered them backwards and got a 21 rear and a 606 front, which lead to problems.
The MT21 rear got mounted, I headed to Vegas from LA to do some dirt riding up there, and after about 120 miles started throwing knobs.
I made it to Vegas with 13 missing knobs down the center and every singe remaining center knob showing signs of seperation. Pirelli's response was along the lines of "meh, it happens, but we'll give you a special deal and discount your next one."
Probably just a fluke of a bad tire, but the response I got from Pirelli has turned me off from buying anymore tires from them.
Now I run 606 front and rear. Front feels just as good and doesn't wear nearly as badly as the MT21.

I found the MT21 wore a bit faster, but more importantly to me, the saw-toothing seems much more pronounced than the 606.
But that could just be me.

i might try the 606 front again it's been a while. I do like the rear but they seem to be more $$$ than MT21's

What kind of miles do you guys get out of a 606 f/r or a 606/M21 combo?

How do they feel on the road?
